Bettina Stephanie Walter (born February 13, 1971) is a German documentary film producer. Her works as producer include ''The Forum'' (German: ''Das Forum'', winner of the 2020 German Business Film Prize ( de)), ''Falciani's Tax Bomb'' (nominated for the 2015 German Film Award for Best Documentary Film and the Grimme Online Award for Best Documentary), ''Google and the World Brain'' (official selection in the Sundance World Cinema competition), and '' The Light Bulb Conspiracy'' ( es) (winner of the 2011 Ondas Award for International Television). Buchholz In Der Nordheide
Buchholz in der Nordheide (Northern Low Saxon: ''Bookholt'') is the largest town in the district of Harburg, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approximately 25 km southwest of Hamburg. Geography Buchholz is home to the Brunsberg, at 129m the highest mountain in the region. It is on the northern edge of the Lüneburg Heath (''Lüneburger Heide''), hence the suffix to the name. History In 1958, Buchholz received its city charter. In 1992, Buchholz was struck by a small tornado which destroyed many trees and damaged numerous houses. In 2002, the temperature in Buchholz rose above 38 degrees celsius, marking an all-time high for its region. In 2006, Buchholz tried to set a new world record by placing a crowd of 2000 people in the form of a large heart near the local swimming pool. ''The Devil's Miner'' is a 2005 documentary film directed by independent film directors Kief Davidson and Richard Ladkani. The film follows a fourteen-year-old Bolivian boy named Basilio Vargas who along with his twelve-year-old brother Bernardino work in the mines near the city of Potosí. The film includes many subtle realities of the miner's lives such as the need to chew coca leaves to numb the pain of hunger and the long shifts they work regardless of age. The film made its world premier at the Rotterdam film festival and its U.S. debut at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film concentrates on the concerns of local workers who have fear of what they call “Tio” or devil. In the film, an elder miner claims that over 8 million people have died in the unsafe mines. The Berlin International Film Festival (german: Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin), usually called the Berlinale (), is a major international film festival held annually in Berlin, Germany.
