''Better Late Than Never'' is a live album by the AndersonPonty Band, released in September 2015. Overview The AndersonPonty Band is a progressive rock band formed in summer 2014, centred around the French violinist Jean-Luc Ponty and the British singer/songwriter and founding member of Yes, Jon Anderson. Ponty was approached by Jon Anderson with the idea of working together in the 1980s, but the idea did not come to fruition until about 30 years later. when the project was put up on Kickstarter and was successfully funded by August 2014. ''Better Late Than Never'' was largely recorded during the band's debut concert on 20 September 2014 at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, Colorado, but the released recording also includes studio embellishments and overdubs. Jon Anderson
John Roy Anderson (born 25 October 1944) is an English singer, songwriter and musician, best known as the lead singer of the progressive rock band Yes, which he formed in 1968 with bassist Chris Squire. He was a member of the band across three tenures until 2008. Anderson was also a member of ARW along with former Yes bandmates Rick Wakeman and Trevor Rabin from 2016–2020. Together with bassist Lee Pomeroy and drummer Lou Molino III, they toured under the name Yes Featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman. The first and second parts of the song were released as a single edit and reached number 42 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Introducing the song live in 1972, lead vocalist Jon Anderson said Yes called it "The Protest Song" when they were making the ''Close to the Edge'' album. It was put together several months after the release of the band's 1969 eponymous debut, during which they continued to tour heavily and recorded ''Time and a Word'' during gaps between shows. Yes continued to follow their early musical direction of performing original material and cover versions of songs by pop, jazz, and folk artists. A small orchestra of brass and string session musicians was used on most of the album's songs.
