Bettendorf Transit
Bettendorf Transit is the operator of public transportation in Scott County, Iowa. Bus service began in the city in 1974, with the municipality contracted with Moline for the creation of one intercity line. In 1980, fixed route service began, and today four local and one intercity routes are provided, using 6 standard and two smaller buses. Standard fares are 60 cents; while all buses are wheelchair accessible, paratransit is not a function of this agency, but instead is a function of River Bend Transit. Bettendorf is a city in Scott County, Iowa, United States. It is the 15th largest city of Iowa and the third-largest city in the "Quad Cities". It is part of the Davenport– Moline– Rock Island, IA- IL Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 39,102 at the 2020 U.S. Census. Bettendorf is one of the Quad Cities, along with neighboring Davenport and the Illinois cities of Moline, East Moline and Rock Island. The Quad Cities have a population estimate of 382,630. Scott County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 174,669, making it the third-most populous county in Iowa. The county seat is Davenport. Scott County is included in the Davenport– Moline- Rock Island, IA– IL Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The first American settlement in the area now known as Scott County was Clark's Ferry or Clark's Landing (now Buffalo) in 1833. Quad Cities MetroLINK
The Quad Cities MetroLINK, officially the Rock Island County Metropolitan Mass Transit District, provides mass transportation for the Illinois half of the Quad Cities metro area. Both Iowa cities that make up the region have their own systems, but one MetroLINK route does connect with Davenport, Iowa. It is the only transit system in the Quad Cities that operates seven days a week and holidays. The system has a fleet of 60 fixed route buses that is composed of twenty-five 30-foot compressed natural gas buses, eight 40-foot compressed natural gas buses and twenty-two 40-foot Diesel fuel, diesel buses.
