Betsy Wolfe
Betsy Wolfe (born Elizabeth Marie Wolfe; June 1, 1982) is an American actress, singer, and entrepreneur. Betsy Wolfe is currently starring in the new Broadway musical ''& Juliet'' as Anne. Previously, Wolfe starred as Jenna Hunterson, the title role in the Tony Awards nominated musical ''Waitress''. Prior to that, played Cordelia, one of the lovable "lesbians from next door," in the Broadway revival of ''Falsettos'', and Rosa Bud in ''The Mystery of Edwin Drood''. She is best known for her critically acclaimed performance as Cathy Hiatt in the Off-Broadway revival of ''The Last Five Years''. In 2020, Wolfe starred in the holiday film ''Estella Scrooge: A Christmas Carol With A Twist''. Michael Korie (born April 1, 1955) is an American librettist and lyricist whose writing for musical theater and opera includes the musicals ''Grey Gardens'' and '' Far From Heaven'', and the operas ''Harvey Milk'' and ''The Grapes of Wrath''. His works have been produced on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and internationally. His lyrics have been nominated for the Tony Award and the Drama Desk Award, and won the Outer Critics Circle Award. James Elliot Lapine (born January 10, 1949) is an American stage director, playwright, screenwriter, and librettist. He has won the Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical three times, for ''Into the Woods'', '' Falsettos'', and '' Passion''. He has frequently collaborated with Stephen Sondheim and William Finn. ''Flying Over Sunset'' is a musical with music by Tom Kitt, lyrics by Michael Korie, and book by James Lapine. The musical is a fictional account of a meeting between Aldous Huxley, Clare Boothe Luce and Cary Grant, who all used the drug LSD. Productions Readings (2015 and 2016) The musical had a reading in August 2015 at the Vineyard Arts Project (Martha's Vineyard) with Christine Ebersole playing Luce, and a cast featuring Boyd Gaines, Julia Murney, Tam Mutu and David Turner. ''Frozen'' is a musical with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, and book by Jennifer Lee, based on the 2013 film of the same name. The story centers on the relationship between two sisters who are princesses, Elsa and Anna. Elsa has magical powers to freeze objects and people, which she does not know how to control. After inheriting the throne, Elsa flees, inadvertently causes the kingdom to become frozen in an eternal winter, and nearly kills her sister. She must sacrifice and show true love to save the day. A workshop production is a form of theatrical performance, in which a play or musical is staged in a modest form which does not include some aspects of a full production. La Jolla Playhouse is a not-for-profit, professional theatre on the campus of the University of California, San Diego. Kristen Anderson-Lopez (born March 21, 1972) is an American songwriter and lyricist known for co-writing the songs for the 2013 computer-animated musical film '' Frozen'' and its 2019 sequel '' Frozen II'' with her husband Robert Lopez.
