Beto (footballer, Born 1979)
Roberto Mendes da Silva, known simply as Beto is a retired Brazilian professional footballer, who spent most of his football career in Indian club football. Career After spending six seasons with Dempo, Beto switched to Churchill Brothers in 2011. After winning the I-League with Churchill brothers, he switched back to Dempo in the summer of 2013. He has scored a total of 12 goals for Dempo SC in AFC Cup, the continental club tournament. Personal life Beto formed the Brasil Futebol Academia in 2009 with Jose Ramirez Barreto. He has two daughters. Churchill Brothers FC Goa, or simply known as Churchill Brothers, is an Indian professional football club based in Margao, Goa, that competes in the I-League, alongside Goa Professional League. Founded in 1988 in Margao, the club usually participated in the National Football League, then top tier of Indian football league system. The I-League (known as Hero I-League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp) is the second-tier men's professional football competition of the Indian football league system. It is currently contested by 12 clubs across the country with the winners getting promotion to play in the premier division, the Indian Super League. 2010–11 I-League
The 2010–11 I-League was the fourth season of the I-League, which waa the highest football league competition in India during the time. It ran from 3 December 2010 to May 2011. Dempo are the defending champions. On 30 May 2011 Salgaocar SC won the title by beating JCT FC 2–0 in the final match of the season. Teams Sporting Clube de Goa and Shillong Lajong FC were relegated at the end of the 2009–10 season after finishing in the bottom two places of the table. They were replaced by 2010 Second Division champions ONGC FC and runners-up HAL SC. In other team changes, Mahindra United were disbanded at the end of the 2009–10 season to concentrate on youth football.
