Bethel School District (Washington)
Bethel School District No. 403 is a public school district in Pierce County, Washington, USA and serves of unincorporated Pierce County including Spanaway, Graham, Kapowsin and the city of Roy. Bethel was unique in the way that its high schools served grades 10-12 as opposed to the traditional grades of 9-12 of many other districts. In September 2011, Bethel School District planned to switch to a traditional 9-12 district, which occurred in the 2012-2013 school year. As of May 2013, the district had an enrollment of 17,642 students. The superintendent is Tom Seigel, who became the district's leader in 2001. Boundary The district includes: Elk Plain, Roy, South Creek, Spanaway. It also includes the majority of the following: Frederickson, Graham, and Kapowsin. Pierce County, Washington
Pierce County is a county in the U.S. state of Washington. As of the 2020 census, the population was 921,130, up from 795,225 in 2010, making it the second-most populous county in Washington, behind King County, and the 60th-most populous in the United States. Fort Lewis was a United States Army post from 1917 to 2010 located south-southwest of Tacoma, Washington. Fort Lewis was merged with McChord Air Force Base on 1 February 2010 to form Joint Base Lewis–McChord. Fort Lewis, named after Meriwether Lewis of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, was one of the largest and most modern military reservations in the United States, consisting of of prairie land cut from the glacier-flattened Nisqually Plain. Spanaway Lake High School
Spanaway Lake High School is a high school in Spanaway, Washington, for grade levels 9 through 12. In 2007, 6 percent of 10th graders meet standard on the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) writing test and 7 percent meet standard on the WASL reading test. The overall writing scores have increased 28 percentage points in five years. SLHS currently has to improve in the areas of math and science. Among 10th graders, 33 percent meet the standard in math and 23 percent meet the standard in science. The school is offering a greater selection of math courses to its students, as well as providing increased training to teachers to help them reach struggling students in math and science. Graham-Kapowsin High School is a high school in the Bethel School District, Pierce County, Washington, United States. Its doors first opened to grade 10 and 11 students in September 2005. South Hill, Washington
South Hill is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pierce County, Washington, immediately south of Puyallup. The population was 64,708 at time of the 2020 census, up from 52,431 in 2010. The name describes the area's location above the south side of the Puyallup River valley. This also contrasts with the nearby Edgewood and Milton areas, which are known informally as North Hill. The area primarily consists of suburban housing and shopping with several retail shopping centers, residential neighborhoods, and apartment/condo complexes throughout. Parkland, Washington
Parkland is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pierce County, Washington. The population was 35,803 at the time of the 2010 census and had grown to 38,623 as of the 2020 census. It is an unincorporated suburb of the city of Tacoma and is home to Pacific Lutheran University. Parkland borders most of Tacoma's southern cutoff at 96th St, and borders with much of the northern cutoff of Spanaway, Washington, at 152nd St (or Military Rd E). The most influential motorway is State Route 7/Pacific Ave, which travels north and south, and leads from Interstate 5 in Tacoma all the way to Mount Rainier.
