Beth Raymer
Beth Anne Raymer (born in 1976, in Steubenville, Ohio) is an American writer and journalist. Her work in both fiction and non-fiction explores subcultures and issues relevant to the lives of lower and middle-class families. Raymer received an MFA from Columbia University. As a Fulbright fellow, she studied offshore gambling operations in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama. Raymer is the author of a number of books including ''Lay the Favorite'', a memoir of her experience in the sports-betting industry. The memoir was adapted into a film in 2012. Her journalism has been published in ''The Atlantic'', Lapham’s Quarterly, Sports Illustrated, and ''The New York Times Magazine''. MacDowell Colony
MacDowell is an artist's residency program in Peterborough, New Hampshire, United States, founded in 1907 by composer Edward MacDowell and his wife, pianist and philanthropist Marian MacDowell. Prior to July 2020, it was known as the MacDowell Colony (or simply "the Colony") but the Board of Directors shortened the name to remove "terminology with oppressive overtones". After Edward MacDowell died in 1908, Marian MacDowell established the artists' residency program through a nonprofit association in honor of her husband, raising funds to transform her farm into a quiet retreat for creative artists to work. An associate degree is an undergraduate degree awarded after a course of post-secondary study lasting two to three years. It is a level of qualification above a high school diploma, GED, or matriculation, and below a bachelor's degree. Princeton Architectural Press is a small press publisher, specializing in books on architecture, design, photography, landscape, and visual culture, with over 1,000 titles on its backlist. The LA Film Festival was an annual film festival that was held in Los Angeles, California, and usually took place in June. The Ottawa International Animation Festival is an annual animated film and media festival that takes place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
