''Best Hit AKG'' is a compilation album by the Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation, released on January 18, 2012. History ''Best Hit AKG'' is the band's first compilation album. Song selection was determined by members other than Masafumi Goto. The album includes all of their singles up until this point with the exception of "Siren", " World Apart" and " Maigoinu to Ame no Beat". Limited edition includes bonus DVD of "Return To The Basics vol.1". Live studio recording of the songs from the 1st album "Kimi Tsunagi Five M" are included here in the same order. Gotoh announced via Twitter that the compilation did not represent the end of the band, and that they still planned to release an original album in the summer of 2012. This became ''Landmark''. This album is also their first to be available for digital download in the United States via iTunes. Asian Kung-Fu Generation
(stylized as ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION) is a Japanese alternative rock band formed in Yokohama in 1996. For its entire career, the band has consisted of vocalist Masafumi Gotoh, guitarist Kensuke Kita, bassist Takahiro Yamada, and drummer Kiyoshi Ijichi. Starting out as a college band, Asian Kung-Fu Generation released a series of independent EPs featuring lyrics mostly sung in English. In 2002, they released their major-label EP debut '' Hōkai Amplifier'', from that point singing their lyrics in Japanese. The band's musical style is influenced by seminal Western alternative rock acts as well as their own local Japanese indie-rock and punk scene. Rewrite (song)
is a song by Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation. It was released as the third single of their second full-length studio album, '' Sol-fa'', on August 4, 2004. In 2016, they re-recorded Rewrite along with all songs from ''Sol-fa'' and released on November 30, 2016. Reception The song experienced immense domestic and international popularity after it was chosen as the fourth and final opening theme of the first ''Fullmetal Alchemist'' anime series. Peaking at number four on the Oricon charts, the single sold nearly 150,000 units by the end of the year it was released, making it the 63rd single of the year. Takahiro Yamada (musician)
is the bass player and backing vocalist of the Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation. Yamada met fellow band members Masafumi Gotoh and Kensuke Kita while attending a music club of Kanto Gakuin University. The three formed Asian Kung-Fu Generation in 1996, with drummer Kiyoshi Ijichi joining the band shortly after. While Gotoh acts the main songwriter of the band, Yamada has composed music for certain songs, such as After Dark, Re:Re:, Siren and Sore dewa, Mata Ashita. Kensuke Kita
(January 24, 1977) is the lead guitarist and backing singer of the Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation. Kensuke met fellow band members Masafumi Gotō and Takahiro Yamada while attending a music club of Kanto Gakuin University. The three formed Asian Kung-Fu Generation in 1996, with drummer Kiyoshi Ijichi joining the band shortly after. While he primarily performs as background vocals, he sang lead vocals on, "Uso to Wonderland", "Seaside Sleeping", "Time Traveler", "Hakkei" and "Omatsuri No Ato", all of them are B-sides from the band's singles. Solanin (song)
is a song by Japanese rock band, Asian Kung-Fu Generation. It was released as a single on March 31, 2010. The song was written for the film of the same name. The music was composed by band member Masafumi Gotoh, while the lyrics was written by Inio Asano, creator of the manga of the same name that the film is based on. Asian Kung-Fu Generation's recording was not used in the film. Instead, a cover, credited to Rotti, a fictional band from the film, with vocals by Aoi Miyazaki, who plays Meiko in the film, was used. The single's B-side, "Mustang (mix for Meiko)" is a remix of "Mustang" from the band's 2008 EP '' Mada Minu Ashita ni.'' The song, which was also inspired by the manga, was used as the ending theme of the film. The song was first introduced late 2007 during a live, onstage performance in Korea while the band was on its ''Project Beef'' tour. is a song by Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation. It was released as the lead single of their fifth studio album, '' World World World'', on November 29, 2006. The song was conceived on tour when the director of the then-upcoming anime film, ''Tekkonkinkreet'', approached the band and requested a theme song for his film.
