MuchMusic Video Award
The iHeartRadio MMVAs were an annual awards show broadcast on Much to honour the year's best music videos that was last held in 2018. Originally debuting in 1990 as the Canadian Music Video Awards, the awards were renamed in 1995 to the MuchMusic Video Awards, reflecting the original (1984–2013) "MuchMusic" name of the Much channel. In 2016, the show was rebranded under the iHeartRadio banner after Much's parent company, Bell Media, reached a licensing agreement with iHeartMedia. In 2018, the show's full name was officially dropped. In 2019, six years after changing the name of MuchMusic to Much, and having reduced its music video programming to just one hour daily (''Much Retro Lunch''), the ceremony was not held, citing supposed scheduling conflicts with other events occurring in Toronto. Projet Orange
Projet Orange was a Quebecois musical band from Quebec City, Quebec. They performed britpop-inspired rock. Profile Formed in Quebec City by brothers Jean-Christophe and Jean-Sébastien Boies, ''Projet Orange'' played a britpop-like, catchy and flowing sound. Their success began when they won the Quebec musical contest L'Empire des futures stars. The name came from an early show of multiple groups in which the band was partook. It was required to enter the name of one's band on a sheet, where the names of the bands would be preceded by "Projet:" (Project:). After seeing the orange coat of a fellow member, one band player entered ''Orange'' next to the term and thus the name was born. Muzion
Muzion were a Canadian rap group formed in 1996. The group is made up of rap artists of Haitian origin who lived in Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension in Montreal, including Dramatik, Imposs (real name Stanley Rimsky Salgado) and his sister J-Kyll. Imposs went on to a solo career, releasing his debut solo album in 2007, ''Mon Poing D'Vue''. Career Muzion was considered a prominent group on the Montreal urban scene. Éric Lapointe (born 28 September 1969) is a francophone lead singer and guitarist for his eponymous band. Rainmen (band)
The Halifax Rainmen were a professional basketball team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. They played in the Atlantic Division of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL) and their home games took place at the Scotiabank Centre, formerly known as the Halifax Metro Centre. Andre Levingston was the owner of the Rainmen since he helped establish the team in 2006. The team played their first season in the American Basketball Association (ABA). However, after becoming unhappy with the ABA, they moved to the Premier Basketball League (PBL) for the next three seasons. In 2011, they joined the NBL Canada as one of the original seven teams. Despite showing success in the four seasons they spent in the Canadian league, making two Finals appearances, the Rainmen filed for bankruptcy in July 2015.
