Besharam (1978 Film)
''Besharam'' () is a 1978 Hindi drama/thriller film produced and directed by veteran character actor Deven Verma. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Amjad Khan, A. K. Hangal, Iftekhar, Nirupa Roy and Deven Verma. The film's music was composed by Kalyanji Anandji. The movie was not a hit on release and fared poorly. An innocent man sets out to find the truth about his father's death. He finds himself in a dangerous battle with the criminal underworld. Plot After Digvijay Singh ( Amjad Khan) implicates him as a corrupt person, Ramchandra ( A. K. Hangal), a teacher, commits suicide. Deven Verma
Deven Verma (23 October 1937 – 2 December 2014) was an Indian film and television actor, particularly known for his comic roles, with Bollywood directors like Basu Chatterji, Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Gulzar. He also produced and directed films, including '' Besharam''. He won Filmfare Best Comedian Award for ''Chori Mera Kaam'', ''Chor Ke Ghar Chor'' and '' Angoor''. Life Verma was born on 23 October 1937 in Kutch, to Baldev Singh Verma and Sarala Devi and was brought up in Pune. His father was Rajasthani and mother belonged to Kutch. Mahendra Kapoor (9 January 1934 – 27 September 2008) was an Indian playback singer. In a long career spanning decades, his repertoire included popular songs such as ''Chalo ekbaar phir se Ajnabi ban jayen hum dono'' ( Gumrah) and ''Neele Gagan ke tale'' (Hamraaz).
