Besançon Football
Besançon Football is a French football club based in Besançon. It plays at the Stade Léo Lagrange and plays in the Championnat National 3, the fifth tier in the French football league system. The club was formed in June 2014 as Besançon FC, having evolved from the football section of Besançon ASPTT, whose place in Championnat de France Amateur 2 it took for the 2014–15 season. In May 2017 Besançon FC merged with local club Promo Sports Besançon to form Besançon Football. Current squad As of 6 March 2018. Stade Léo Lagrange
Stade Léo Lagrange is a stadium in Besançon, France. It is currently used for football (soccer), football matches and is the home stadium of Racing Besançon. The stadium holds 10,500 spectators. On 31 January 2014, it hosted a Six Nations Under 20s Championship match between France national under-20 rugby union team, France and England national under-20 rugby union team, England with France winning 21 - 15. Besançon (, , , ; archaic german: Bisanz; la, Vesontio) is the prefecture of the department of Doubs in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. The city is located in Eastern France, close to the Jura Mountains and the border with Switzerland. The Championnat National 3, commonly referred to as simply National 3 and formerly known as Championnat de France Amateur 2, is a football league competition. The league serves as the fifth division of the French football league system behind Ligue 1, Ligue 2, Championnat National, and the Championnat National 2. Usually contested by 168 clubs, the Championnat National 3 operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Championnat National 2 and the regional leagues of the Division d'Honneur, the sixth division of French football. Seasons run from August to May, with teams in twelve groups playing 26 games each totalling 2080 games in the season. Most games are played on Saturdays and Sundays, with a few games played during weekday evenings. The French football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for club football in France and Monaco, and includes one Spanish side. At the top two levels of the system is the Ligue de Football Professionnel, which consists of two professional national divisions, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. Rafaël Marques Dias Brito (born 29 January 1991), commonly known as Rafaël Dias, is a Portuguese footballer who plays for French club Racing Besançon. Brito was born in Covilhã, Portugal, but is a naturalized citizen of France and was a France youth international having earned caps with the under-15 and under-16 teams. Nekiambé Marius Mbaiam (born 1 June 1987) is a Chadian professional footballer who plays as a striker or midfielder in the Championnat National 3 for Besançon Football.
