Berwinne
The Berwinne (; nl, Berwijn, ) is a small river in the north-eastern part of Belgium. It is a right-bank tributary to the Meuse river and flows over a distance of 31.9 kilometres (19.8 miles) through the provinces of Liège and Limburg. Its source is located in the eastern part of the municipality of Aubel, near the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial. Moelingen
Moelingen, United States National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (French name Mouland, United States National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency) is a village in the municipality of Voeren, which is part of the province of Limburg in Belgium. Until 1977 Moelingen was a municipality of its own. In that year it became part of the Voeren municipality. In this village, like in all of the Belgian (as well as the neighbouring Dutch) province of Limburg, predominantly "Limburgs" is spoken, a Low Frankish dialect, closely related to Flemish. Meuse (river)
The Meuse ( , , , ; wa, Moûze ) or Maas ( , ; li, Maos or ) is a major European river, rising in France and flowing through Belgium and the Netherlands before draining into the North Sea from the Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt delta. Val-Dieu Abbey
Val-Dieu Abbey is a former Cistercian monastery in Wallonia in the Berwinne valley near Aubel in the Pays de Herve ( province of Liège, Belgium). History In 1216 a small number of monks from Hocht Abbey in Lanaken, near Maastricht, settled in the uninhabited valley which formed the border between the Duchy of Limburg and the county of Dalhem; they called their settlement ''Vallis Dei'' (french: Val-Dieu; en, Valley of God).Thomas Lambiet: ''Val-Dieu. Aubel
Aubel (; wa, Åbe) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium. On 1 January 2006 the municipality had 4,082 inhabitants. The total area is 18.83 km², giving a population density of 217 inhabitants per km². The Val-Dieu Abbey is located in the municipality, as is the Siroperie Meurens maker of sirop de Liège. Market Aubel is famous for its regional products, these include: cheese, syrup, cider and beer. The market is active on Tuesdays and Sundays. It was very famous in the past and has been continually active since 1630. In the past, people came from far away to sell and buy products. Especially the cheese from Aubel is very famous. Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery And Memorial
Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial is a Second World War American military war grave cemetery in eastern Belgium. It is northwest of Henri-Chapelle, about east of Liège. Dedicated in 1960, the cemetery contains 7,992 American war dead and covers . One of three American war cemeteries in Belgium (along with the Ardennes American Cemetery and Flanders Field) it is administered by the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC). Dalhem
Dalhem (; wa, Dålem) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium. On 1 January 2012 Dalhem had a total population of 6,996. The total area is 36.06 km² which gives a population density of 180 inhabitants per km². The name Dalhem is of Germanic origin and means "place of residence in the valley" (lit. ''dale home/dale ham''). Visé (; nl, Wezet, ; wa, Vizé) is a city and municipality of Wallonia, located on the river Meuse in the province of Liège, Belgium. The municipality consists of the following districts: Argenteau, Cheratte, Lanaye, Lixhe, Richelle, and Visé.
