Berwick is an unincorporated community in Nemaha County, Kansas, United States. History Berwick was a station on the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad. In 1916, Berwick contained but four houses. A post office was opened in Berwick in 1887, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1937. Nemaha County (standard abbreviation: NM) is a county located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Kansas. As of the 2020 census, the county population was 10,273. The county seat is Seneca. History Early history For many millennia the Great Plains of North America was inhabited by nomadic Native Americans. The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad (CRI&P RW, sometimes called ''Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway'') was an American Class I railroad. It was also known as the Rock Island Line, or, in its final years, The Rock.
