Berta Betanzos
Berta Betanzos Moro (born 15 January 1988 in Santander) is a Spanish sports sailor. She won the gold medal in the 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships (with Tara Pacheco) and the silver medal in the 470 World Championships The 470 World Championships have been held every year since 1970 and organised by the International 470 Class Association and recognized by the International Sailing Federation. When the Championship forms part of the ISAF Sailing World Championsh ... of 2009 (also with Pacheco). In 2009, the team also won the European Junior Title. In 2011, she and Pacheco won the European 470 title. She won the 49er FX gold at the 2016 ISAF Sailing World Championships with Támara Echegoyen. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's 470 class (also with Pacheco) finishing 10th. For the 2016 Summer Olympics, she competed in the 49er FX class with Támara Echegoyen. Santander, Spain
Santander () is the capital of the autonomous community and historical region of Cantabria situated on the north coast of Spain. It is a port city located east of Gijón and west of Bilbao with a population of 172,000 (2017). It is believed to have been a port since ancient times, due to its favorable location, and is documented as far back as the 11th century. Much of the medieval city was lost in the Great Fire of 1941. Today, its remaining old town, beach and other attractions are popular with tourists and other visitors and its economy is mainly service based.
