Bernard Opper (September 1, 1915 – February 24, 2000) was an NCAA Men's Basketball All-Americans, All-American basketball player at Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball, Kentucky and then professional player in the National Basketball League (United States), National Basketball League and American Basketball League (1925–1955), American Basketball League. Early life Opper was a native of the Bronx, New York, and was Jewish. He attended Morris High School (Bronx, New York), Morris High School from 1931 to 1935. College He went on to play college basketball at the University of Kentucky from 1936 to 1939. A guard (basketball), guard, Opper earned All-Southeastern Conference honors in all three varsity seasons he played. He helped guide Kentucky to the 1937 SEC Tournament championship and then the 1938 regular season title.
