Bernice Swarts
Bernice Swarts (born 19 February 1972) is a South African politician who is the current Deputy Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure and a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the African National Congress. Parliamentary career In March 2019, the African National Congress (ANC) announced their candidate lists for the national and provincial elections on 8 May 2019. Swarts was placed 17th on the ANC's Gauteng regional to national list. At the election on May 8, the ANC won 53.2% of the vote on the national ballot in Gauteng, which resulted in them winning 26 out of the 47 regional Gauteng seats in the National Assembly. Swarts was elected to the National Assembly and sworn into office on 22 May during the first sitting of parliament following the election. Noxolo Kiviet
Noxolo Kiviet is a South African politician, the former Premier of the Eastern Cape from 2009 to 2014 and former speaker of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature (2004–2009; 2014–2019). She is a member of the African National Congress. In June 2012 Kiviet was rated as the worst performing provincial premier by the South African Public Service Commission. Following the May 2019 general election, Kiviet became a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa. Gauteng ( zu, eGoli; xh, iRhawuti) is one of the nine multi-member constituencies of the National Assembly of South Africa, the lower house of the Parliament of South Africa, the national legislature of South Africa. The constituency was established as Pretoria–Witwatersrand–Vereeniging in 1994 when the National Assembly was established by the Interim Constitution following the end of Apartheid. It was renamed Gauteng in 1999. It is conterminous with the province of Gauteng. 2019 South African General Election
General elections were held in South Africa on 8 May 2019 to elect a new President, National Assembly and provincial legislatures in each province. These were the sixth elections held since the end of apartheid in 1994 and determined who would become the next President of South Africa. Thandi Modise (born 25 December 1959) is a South African politician who is currently serving as the Minister of Defence and Military Veterans. She was previously the Premier of the North West from 2010 to 2014, Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces from 2014 to 2019, and Speaker of the National Assembly from 2019 to 2021. Modise has been a member of the African National Congress (ANC) since the 1976 Soweto uprising, when she dropped out of high school to join Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK), the ANC's armed wing, in exile. Pemmy Castelina Pamela Majodina (born 24 December 1968) is a South African politician serving as a Member of the National Assembly since 2019. A member of the African National Congress, she is the party's chief whip in the assembly. The African National Congress Women's League (ANCWL) is an auxiliary women's political organization of the African National Congress (ANC) of South Africa. This organization has its precedent in the Bantu Women's League, and it oscillated from being the Women's Section to the Women's League from its founding, through the exile years, and in a post-apartheid South Africa.
