Bernhard Kellerhoff
Bernhard Kellerhoff (21 March 1900 – 22 October 1978) was a German association football, footballer. He played club football with Schwarz-Weiß Essen and Eintracht Frankfurt. Schwarz-Weiß Essen academy product Bernhard Kellerhoff rose through the ranks of the West German team and reached 1925 German football championship, championship play-offs 1925 where Essen were eliminated by FSV Frankfurt. In April 1926 Eintracht Frankfurt signed the left winger. In the 1929–30 he was banned for two months after slapping an opponent player during a tough match with SpVgg Griesheim 02. This ban meant that he missed Eintracht's South German championship run in 1929–30 Eintracht Frankfurt season, 1930. A heavy knee injury during an encounter against Mainz sidelined him for good that meant a timely career end. The Southern German football championship (German: ''Süddeutsche Meisterschaft'') was the highest association football competition in the southern Germany, established in 1898. The competition was disbanded in 1933 with the rise of the Nazis to power. While no senior Southern German championship exists nowadays, the under 15 juniors still play an annual competition for the title, often involving the junior teams of clubs who had once been involved in the senior edition. German Football Championship 1932
The 1932 German football championship, the 25th edition of the competition, ended with the first national title for FC Bayern Munich. The title was won with a 2–0 over Eintracht Frankfurt. It was a replay of the Southern German championship final, in which Eintracht had defeated Bayern 2–0 on 24 April 1932. For both clubs it was their first appearance in the German final. While Bayern, the winner, never appeared in another one, Eintracht made up for the 1932 loss by winning the 1959 final. To qualify for the national championship, a team needed to win or finish runners-up in one of the seven regional championships. On top of those 14 clubs, the two strongest regions, West and South were allowed to send a third team each. In the West, this was the local cup winner while in the South, the third placed team of the championship received this place. The Bezirksliga Main-Hessen was the highest association football league in the German state of Hesse and the Prussian province of Hesse-Nassau from 1927 to 1933. The league was disbanded with the rise of the Nazis to power in 1933.
