Bernhard-Jens Eggesbø
Bernhard-Jens Eggesbø (26 December 1931 – 2 March 2019) was a Norwegian military officer and civil servant. Biography Bernhard-Jens Eggesbø was born in Værøy on 26 December 1931. He finished his secondary education in Finnfjordbotn in 1950 and took a degree in civil engineering Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewage ... at Stanford University. He graduated in 1957 and took the Master of Science degree in 1958. His early career was spent in the Norwegian Armed Forces. Værøy
Værøy is an island municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the traditional district of Lofoten. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Sørland on the main island of Værøya. The other village in Værøy is Nordland. Most of the residents live in the Sørland area surrounding the main harbor. The old Værøy Lighthouse sits at the end of that harbor. The municipality is the 351st largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Værøy is the 347th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of only 678. Examen artium was the name of the academic certification conferred in Denmark and Norway, qualifying the student for admission to university studies. Examen artium was originally introduced as the entrance exam of the University of Copenhagen in 1630. The University of Copenhagen was the only university of Denmark-Norway until The Royal Frederick University in Christiania was founded in 1811.
