Bernardus Johannes Alfrink (5 July 1900 – 17 December 1987) was a Dutch Cardinal (Catholic Church), Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Utrecht, Archbishop of Utrecht from 1955 to 1975, and was elevated to the Cardinal (Catholic Church), cardinalate in 1960. Biography Born in Nijkerk, Bernardus Johannes Alfrink was the youngest son of Theodorus Johannes Alfrink and his wife, Elisabeth Catharina Ossenvoort. Bernardus Marinus "Ben" Pon (9 December 1936 – 30 September 2019) was a Dutch vintner and Olympian and motor racing driver. He competed in one Formula One race, the 1962 Dutch Grand Prix, but had a far longer career in sports car racing, before turning his back on the track to concentrate on the wine trade. Bernardus Cornelis Johannes Lievegoed (2 September 1905, Medan – 12 December 1992, Zeist) was a Dutch medical doctor, psychiatrist and author. He is most famous for establishing a theory of organizational development. He founded the N.P.I., or Netherlands Pedagogical Institute, which works with organizations and individuals to help these realize their economic, social and cultural goals. Bernardus Petrus Leene (14 February 1903 – 24 November 1988) was a track cyclist from the Netherlands, who represented his native country at three Summer Olympics (1928, 1932 and 1936). After having won a Gold at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, Netherlands (2.000 m Tandem), he captured the silver medal eight years later in the 2000 m Tandem. Bernardus IJzerdraat
Bernardus IJzerdraat (1891 – 13 March 1941) was a Dutch resistance fighter in the Second World War. A tapestry restorer from Rotterdam, he became involved as early as 1936 in the ''Eenheid door Democratie'' movement which opposed Fascism and Communism. Immediately after the bombing of Rotterdam during the German invasion in 1940, he set up the first Dutch resistance group, ''De Geuzen'' "The Beggars", and published the ''Geuzenbericht'', a resistance pamphlet, on May 15th, the day after the bombing of Rotterdam. He was arrested together with other members of his group when the Germans discovered a list of names and addresses at his home. After a show trial, he was shot at Scheveningen on 13 March 1941 together with 17 others, including three Communists involved in the February Strike. Bernardus Gerhardus Fourie (or Brand Fourie) was a South African diplomat. He served as the South African ambassador to the United States from 1982 to 1985. Early life Fourie was born in 1916 in Wolmaransstad. Career Brand Fourie joined the department South African Department of Foreign Affairs in 1936. He served under six heads of state of South Africa, viz Jan Smuts, Dr DF Malan, JG Strijdom, Hendrik Verwoerd, John Vorster, and PW Botha.
