Berloi
The Berloi Waterfall ( pt, Cascata de Berloi, tet, Be Tuda Berloi) is a small waterfall in the municipality of Aileu, East Timor. It forms part of a minor tributary of the Comoro River. Geography The waterfall is located within the ''suco'' of Fatisi and the Laulara administrative post in the Aileu municipality, a short distance from Dili, the capital city. The stream that passes over the waterfall is sometimes referred to as the Berloi River or the Berloi-Fatisi River, and is a minor tributary of the Comoro River. From the base of the waterfall, the stream flows initially in a southwesterly direction for a short distance. Comoro River
The Comoro River ( pt, Ribeira de Comoro or , tet, Mota Komoro) is a river in East Timor. It flows north into Ombai Strait, reaching the coast in the north western suburbs of the capital, Dili. In its lower reaches, it is the main and largest of Dili's four major rivers. Course The headwaters of the river are in East Timor's central mountains south of Dili. From there, the river flows northeast to the southern edge of Dili's southwestern suburbs. It then turns north and heads through Dili's western suburbs, initially along the border between the municipalities of Dili and Liquiçá, and then by traversing the Dom Aleixo administrative post in Dili municipality, where it passes under the Hinode Bridge and, further downstream, the CPLP Bridge. Aileu Municipality
Aileu (, ) is a municipality, and was formerly a district, of East Timor. It has a population of 48,554 (Census 2015) and an area of 737 km². The municipality's capital is also named Aileu. Its administrative posts are Aileu, Laulara, Lequidoe and Remexio. Etymology The word ''Aileu'' means "bent tree" in the local Mambai language. According to legend, the root of a banyan fig tree (''Ficus benghalensis'') grew to maturity without a branch or leaf. The tree developed into a twisted shape that looked like a chair; its unique appearance made it famous, and eventually gave the community its name. The Commission for Reception, Truth and Reconciliation in East Timor (more commonly known by its Portuguese acronym CAVR: Comissão de Acolhimento, Verdade e Reconciliação de Timor Leste) was an independent truth commission established in East Timor in 2001 under the UN Transitional Administration in East Timor (UNTAET) and charged to “inquire into human rights violations committed on all sides, between April 1974 and October 1999, and facilitate community reconciliation with justice for those who committed less serious offenses.” The idea of a truth commission in East Timor was first agreed by the National Council of Timorese Resistance in 2000.
