''Bergen 1996'' is a live EP by Norwegian black metal band Gorgoroth. It was released in November 2007 on vinyl by Forces of Satan Records and on CD by Regain Records. The tracks were recorded live at Maxime in Bergen, Norway, on 23 May 1996. It was previously released in 1996 as '' The Last Tormentor'' on limited pressing of 666 copies. Gorgoroth
Gorgoroth is a Norwegian black metal band based in Bergen. It was formed in 1992 by guitarist Infernus, who is also the only original member remaining, and the band have since released nine studio albums. Gorgoroth are a Satanic band and have drawn controversy due to some of their concerts, which have featured impaled sheep heads and mock crucifixions. The band is named after the dead plateau of darkness in the land of Mordor from J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy novel ''The Lord of the Rings''. History Early years (1992–1995) Gorgoroth was founded in 1992 by guitarist Infernus. In 1993, the band released their first demo, entitled ''A Sorcery Written in Blood''. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Pest (musician)
Thomas Kronenes (born 16 September 1975), best known by the stage name Pest (Norwegian for "pestilence" or "plague"), is a Norwegian black metal musician, mainly known for his work in the band Gorgoroth. While a part of Gorgoroth he performed vocals, and also played guitar in the group for a very short time in 1996. Biography Pest was one of the founding members of the Norwegian symphonic black metal band Obtained Enslavement, which was formed in Stord, Norway, in 1989. Obtained Enslavement released two demos in 1992 and 1993 before their first full-length album, ''Centuries of Sorrow'', was released in 1994. In 1995, Pest was approached by Infernus of Gorgoroth with an offer to join the band as their new vocalist, after the previous vocalist Hat had decided to leave the band. Electric Guitar

Infernus
Roger Tiegs (born 18 June 1972 in Umeå), better known by his stage name Infernus, is a Norwegian black metal musician and Satanist. He is the sole founding member and chief ideologist of the black metal band Gorgoroth, which was formed in 1992, as well as the founder and head of Forces of Satan Records. He is mainly a guitarist but has also participated as bassist, drummer and vocalist on several recordings released both by Gorgoroth and other bands. Ares (musician)
Ronny Hovland, better known as Ares, (born 3 June 1973 in Bergen) is a Norwegian metal vocalist, guitarist and bassist, and the founder of the Norwegian death metal band Aeternus. Biography Ares is the founder of the Norwegian dark metal/death metal band Aeternus, in which he plays guitar and does the vocals. The band was formed in 1993 as a trio, composed of Ares, Erik Vrolok, and Morrigan. From 1995 to 1997, Ares was the bassist of the black metal band Gorgoroth, before Aeternus' debut album, ''Beyond the Wandering Moon'', was released in 1997 on Hammerheart Records. Aeternus has since toured with bands such as Emperor and Deicide, and has released an additional five full-length albums. Ares is now the only remaining original member of Aeternus.
