Berane
Berane ( cyrl, Беране) is one of the largest towns of northeastern Montenegro and a former administrative centre of the Ivangrad District. The town is located on the Lim river. From 1949 to 1992, it was named Ivangrad ( cyrl, Иванград) in honour to people's hero Ivan Milutinović. The town has a population of over 11,000, whereas its municipality area reaches nearly 30,000 people, making it one of the largest centres of Polimlje area. During the medieval period the land of Berane was known as Budimlja (Будимља). It was of great holistic, political and economic importance in the medieval Serbian state and its rulers. Until 1455, when Turks took the city, Budimlja was part of the wider historical region of Raška, within the Medieval Serbia. Berane Municipality
Berane Municipality ( Montenegrin and Serbian: Opština Berane / Општина Беране) is one of the municipalities in the northern Montenegro. The center is Berane. Until 2013, it covered an area of 544 km2, and it had a population of 33,970 at the 2011 Census. In 2013, however, Petnjica Municipality was formed out of the eastern part of Berane Municipality. Đurđevi Stupovi, Montenegro
The Đurđevi Stupovi Monastery ( sr, Манастир Ђурђеви ступови, Manastir Đurđevi stupovi, lit. "Tracts of St. George") is a Serbian Orthodox monastery near the town of Berane, in northeastern Montenegro. It was founded by Stefan Prvoslav, the nephew of Stefan Nemanja, in 1213. Since 2019, it was the cathedral monastery of the Eparchy of Budimlja, until the end of the 17th century. Democratic Montenegro ( Serbian and Montenegrin: Демократска Црна Гора / ''Demokratska Crna Gora''), also known as the Democrats (Демократе / ''Demokrate''), is a conservative liberal, centrist, populist and pro-European political party in Montenegro. Ivan Milutinović (nickname Milutin; sr-cyr, Иван Милутиновић; 27 September 1901 – 23 October 1944) was a Yugoslav Partisan general and an eminent military commander who participated in World War II. Before the war In October 1940, during the Fifth Land Conference of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia held in Zagreb, Milutinović was elected as a member of Politburo. At this conference Tito formulated the leftist strategy of the CPY as focused on a revolutionary seizure of power in the country in order to organize a Soviet-style administrative organization in Yugoslavia. Present Montenegrin car plates have black characters on a rectangular white background, with blue strip on the left. The plates follow the 520 mm x 110 mm format, except for motorcycles. The present licence plates format was introduced on 6 June 2008, and replaced the old format (format of Yugoslav licence plates) gradually over the following year.
