Bennett King
Bennett Alfred King (born 19 December 1964 in Mossman, Queensland, Australia) is an Australian cricket coach and former professional rugby league footballer. He played first-grade for the Gold Coast-Tweed Giants in the 1988 NSWRL season. King was the former coach of the West Indies national cricket team. Before taking over the West Indies coaching role from Gus Logie, Bennett King was the Queensland Bulls' first team coach. In the 1999–2000 Australian domestic season, Bennett King was appointed as head coach after the departure of John Buchanan to the Australian national cricket team. In his first season, King led the Bulls to victory in the first-class cricket competition, the Pura Cup. He then led them to victory in that same competition for the following two years, until he was appointed as the head coach at the Australian Cricket Academy. Mossman is a rural town and locality in the Shire of Douglas, Queensland, Australia. Australian Cricket Academy
The Australian Cricket Academy was founded in 1987 as a joint initiative of the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and the Australian Cricket Board (ACB). It was initially located at Henley Beach in Adelaide before moving to the Allan Border Field in Brisbane, Queensland in 2004 and renamed the "Commonwealth Bank Centre of Excellence". It was designed to be a finishing school for leading young cricketers and is a program within the AIS. It was for some time known as the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy as part of a sponsorship arrangement with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. The 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup was the ninth Cricket World Cup, a One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament that took place in the West Indies from 13 March to 28 April 2007. There were a total of 51 matches played, three fewer than at the 2003 World Cup (despite a field larger by two teams). The 16 competing teams were initially divided into four groups, with the two best-performing teams from each group moving on to a "Super 8" format. 2006 ICC Champions Trophy
The 2006 ICC Champions Trophy was a One Day International cricket tournament held in India from 7 October to 5 November 2006. It was the fifth edition of the ICC Champions Trophy (previously known as the ICC Knock-out). The tournament venue was not confirmed until mid-2005 when the Indian government agreed that tournament revenues would be free from tax (the 2002 tournament had been due to be held in India, but was switched to Sri Lanka when an exemption from tax in India was not granted). Australia won the tournament, their first Champions Trophy victory. They were the only team to get one loss in the tournament, as all other teams lost at least two matches.
