Benjy Taylor
Otto Benjamin Taylor Jr. (born August 21, 1967) is an American college basketball coach, currently head coach for Tuskegee Golden Tigers basketball, Tuskegee. He is a former head men's basketball coach at Chicago State University and former interim head coach at the University of Hawaii. Tuskegee Golden Tigers Basketball
Tuskegee University (Tuskegee or TU), formerly known as the Tuskegee Institute, is a Private university, private, Historically black colleges and universities, historically black land-grant university in Tuskegee, Alabama. It was founded on Independence Day (United States), Independence Day in 1881 by the Alabama Legislature, state legislature. The campus was designated as the Tuskegee Institute National Historic Site by the National Park Service in 1974. The university has been home to a number of important African Americans, African American figures, including scientist George Washington Carver and World War II's Tuskegee Airmen. Chicago State University
Chicago State University (CSU) is a predominantly black public university in Chicago, Illinois. Founded in 1867 as the Cook County Normal School, it was an innovative teachers college. Eventually the Chicago Public Schools assumed control of the school from the county and it became Chicago Teachers College (CTC). Northeastern Illinois University began as a branch campus of CTC in 1949. In 1951, the State of Illinois began funding the college, and assumed control in 1965, transforming it into a comprehensive state college. In 1967, it became Chicago State University. Tuskegee Golden Tigers
The Tuskegee Golden Tigers represent Tuskegee University in intercollegiate athletics. They are a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and compete within the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). The university has a total of 10 varsity sports teams, five men's teams called the "Golden Tigers", and five women's teams called the "Tigerettes". 2014–15 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Basketball Team
The 2014–15 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors basketball team represented the University of Hawaii at Manoa during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Rainbow Warriors, led by interim head coach Benjy Taylor, played their home games at the Stan Sheriff Center as members of the Big West Conference. On October 28, 2014, Gib Arnold was removed as coach at Hawaii following an NCAA investigation. Assistant Benjy Taylor was named interim head coach. Despite a 22 win season and being the runner up in their conference tournament, the Warriors didn't play in a postseason tournament. Taylor was not retained after the season.
