Benji Compton
Benjamin Mark "Benji" Compton (born 17 September 1986, in Playa de las Américas, Tenerife) is a Spanish-British motorcycle speedway rider. Career Compton has ridden for Buxton Hitmen in 2004, Scunthorpe Scorpions in 2005, Sheffield Tigers in 2006 as well as Berwick Bandits and King's Lynn Stars in 2007. He won the Premier Trophy in 2007 while riding for King's Lynn. His parent club is Sheffield Tigers who in 2008 granted him permission to ride for Scunthorpe Scorpions who had moved up to the Premier League from the Conference League. Compton had ridden for Scunthorpe in the Conference League from 2005 to 2007. In May 2008, however, it was revealed that Compton would be leaving Scunthorpe as part of team strengthening. Compton subsequently rode for the Redcar Bears for the remainder of the season. In September 2008, Compton won the Conference League Riders' Championship at Rye House with a 14 point tally. British Speedway Promoters' Association
The British Speedway Promoters Limited (BSPL) organises the domestic motorcycle speedway competitions in the United Kingdom. They are also responsible for the promotion and running of the FIM meetings staged in Britain. Each club has a promoter in the association, although promotions under three years of membership do not have a vote. A ''Management Committee'' is elected at the Annual General Meeting, and this committee is responsible for the day-to-day running of British speedway. All the promoters meet periodically to discuss matters of importance, usually rule changes. Andre Compton
Andre Neil Compton (born 15 May 1977 in Dewsbury, England) is a speedway rider. He is the older brother of Benji Compton. Career summary In 2004, Compton's form led to a call up from Elite League side Poole Pirates. This was also the year in which Compton became Premier League Riders Champion. He passed the unbeaten Simon Stead in the final, and both riders fell on the last turn, giving both riders multiple injuries. The race was awarded and Compton managed to take his place on the rostrum as winner. In 2006, Compton became the captain of the Sheffield Tigers following the retirement of Sean Wilson. It was a successful season for the Tigers who finished second in the Premier League and gained a place in the Premier League play-off final, which was won by the King's Lynn Stars. Compton tore ligaments in his shoulder while riding in Sweden in August, just before the Premier Trophy Final, which they consequently lost to King's Lynn Stars. Bradford
Bradford is a city and the administrative centre of the City of Bradford district in West Yorkshire, England. The city is in the Pennines' eastern foothills on the banks of the Bradford Beck. 2021 National Development League Speedway Season
The National Development League 2021 is the third tier/division of British speedway for the 2021 season. Due to pressures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic it was decided that the league would be decided by the final table standings only, with no playoffs being held. For the same reason no Knockout Cup would be held. Team changes There were significant changes from the previous 2019 National Development League speedway season. Plymouth Gladiators and Kent Kings moved up a division to the SGB Championship but the latter formed a junior side called the Kent Royals to compete in the development league. The Cradley Heathens had withdrawn after the 2019 season and the Isle of Wight Warriors withdrew from the league in early 2021.
