Benjamín Monterroso
Benjamín Eduardo ("''Mincho''") Monterroso Díaz (born January 1, 1952) is a Guatemalan football coach and former midfielder who spent the majority of his playing career at the local club Municipal, and is also a former player and current manager of the Guatemalan women's national team. Playing career Monterroso played for Municipal from 1970 to 1979, being part of the squad that won the IV CONCACAF Champions' Cup in 1974. He also played in the only Copa Interamericana final played by a Guatemalan team. After a 1–1 aggregate against Argentina's Independiente, Monterroso missed during the penalty shootout. Aside from the CONCACAF honors, Municipal won three league championships with Mincho, in 1973, 1974, and 1976. Monterroso scored 21 goals in all competitions for Municipal, and after a decade at the club, he played for the clubs Juventud Retalteca (1980 to 1981), Cobán Imperial (1982 to 1986) and Comunicaciones (1987). The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world. Guatemalan Women's Football Championship
The National Women's Football League of Guatemala or ''Liga Nacional de Fútbol Femenino de Guatemala'' is the top level women's football league in Guatemala. The league was first played in the 1997 season. Record champions are Comunicaciones with six titles. Competition format An annual competition was play out from 1997/98 to 2007/08, when and Apertura and Clausura format was adopted. Now after the regular season, play-offs are played. There is a constant change of teams in the league, as 13 clubs became insolvent just between 2008 and the beginning of 2011 and had to withdrew from the league. Ramón Maradiaga
Ramón Enrique Maradiaga Chávez (born 30 October 1954) is a retired Honduran football player and manager. Club career Nicknamed ''Primitivo'', Maradiaga has played as a midfielder amongst others for F.C. Motagua as well as Salvadoran giants Águila and Alianza. He also had half a season in Europe, playing 15 games in the Spanish Segunda División for Tenerife in 1984. He scored 23 goals in total for Motagua, making him one of the most prolific midfielders in the club's history. He finished his career at Tela Timsa after the 1991–1992 season and took the reins at the club the next season, also changing their name to Petrotela. International career A stocky defensive midfielder, Maradiaga represented Honduras at the 1977 FIFA World Youth Championship. Carlos Humberto Ruiz Gutiérrez (born 15 September 1979), initially nicknamed ''El Pescadito'' or "The Little Fish" but later became ''El Pescado'' or "The Fish" (even by Spanish-speakers), is a Guatemalan former professional footballer.
