Benjamin H. Kline
Benjamin Harrison Kline (July 11, 1894 – January 7, 1974) was an American cinematographer and film director. He was the father of Richard H. Kline. Biography Kline was born in Birmingham, Alabama and started his career as a cinematographer in 1920 with Universal Pictures' ''Red Lane''. Over his career he shot about 350 films and television shows, a number that includes many serials and a large number of Three Stooges short subjects for Columbia Pictures. He worked up through about 1972. His son Richard H. Kline was also a noted cinematographer. Kline also directed eight films during the period of 1931–1945. ''The Galloping Ghost'' is a 1931 American pre-Code Mascot serial film co-directed by B. Reeves Eason and Benjamin H. Kline. The title is the nickname of the star, real life American football player Red Grange. Lon Chaney Jr. had a small uncredited part in it as a henchman. Plot Red Grange is thrown off the Clay College football team in disgrace when his friend, Buddy Courtland, takes a bribe to throw the big game and Red attacks him. ''Chasing the Moon'' is a lost 1922 American silent drama film directed by Edward Sedgwick and starring Tom Mix. It was produced and released by the Fox Film Corporation. Plot As described in a film magazine, Dwight Locke (Mix), the sweetheart of Jane Norworth (Novak), is a pampered son of wealth with so many automobiles, houses, and clothes that he does not know what to do with himself. His hand is accidentally scratched and becomes infected with a deadly poison invented by Milton Norworth (Buckley), who is Jane's brother. A professor with the only antidote for the poison is en route to Russia, so Dwight rushes to intercept him. An attempt is made to kidnap Dwight and hold him for ransom, but he escapes by jumping off a moving train and unmounting a Russian on a passing horse and riding away.
