Bengt Rabaeus
Bengt Rabaeus (4 May 1917 – 31 July 2010) was a Swedish diplomat. Early life Rabaeus was born on 4 May 1917 in Vara, Sweden, the son of the senior teacher David Ohlson and his wife Ingegärd (née Bengtson). He passed his '' studentexamen'' from Katedralskolan in Skara in 1937 and took a reserve officer exam in 1940. Rabaeus received a Master of Philosophy degree from Uppsala University in 1946 and became attaché at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1946. Career He served in Prague from 1946 to 1949 and in Paris from 1949 to 1950. Rabaeus was a civil law notary in the Committee on Foreign Affairs from 1951 to 1955, second secretary at the Foreign Ministry in 1952, secretary of the committee for the revision of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade agreement from 1954 to 1955 and was first embassy secretary of Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations in New York City in 1955. The European Free Trade Association (EFTA) is a regional trade organization and free trade area consisting of four European states: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. The organization operates in parallel with the European Union (EU), and all four member states participate in the European Single Market and are part of the Schengen Area. Carl-George Crafoord
Carl-George "CG" Wilhelm Crafoord (3 September 1921 – 10 July 2006) was a Swedish diplomat. Career Crafoord was born on 3 September 1921 in Stockholm, Sweden, the son of colonel Casa Crafoord and his wife Elsa (née Kumlin) and brother of the colonel John Crafoord and psychiatrist Clarence Crafoord. He passed his ''studentexamen'' in 1940 and served during his mandatory military service for a period during the years 1942 to 1943 at the legation in London as a cryptographist. Crafoord continued as cryptographist at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Stockholm during the remainder of the war, alongside his law studies. At age 22 in 1944, he was sent to Åland as deputy consul. Crafoord took a Candidate of Law degree in Stockholm in 1945 and became attache in June 1945 at the Foreign Ministry's press agency. John Coulson (diplomat)
Sir John Eltringham Coulson (1909–1997) was a British diplomat who was ambassador to Sweden and secretary-general of EFTA. Coulson was born 13 September 1909. He was educated at Rugby School and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. He joined the Diplomatic Service in 1932. He served at Bucharest, Paris, New York and Washington, DC, before being appointed Ambassador to Sweden 1960–1963. He was then Deputy Under-Secretary of State at the Foreign Office 1963–1965, Chief of Administration of HM Diplomatic Service briefly from January to September 1965, and Secretary-General of the European Free Trade Association 1965–1972. Count Wilhelm Hans Fredrik Wachtmeister (29 April 1923 – 3 February 2012) was a Swedish career diplomat who served as the Swedish Ambassador to the United States for 15 years from 1974 to 1989, eventually becoming the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in 1986, as the longest-serving ambassador in the diplomatic corps in Washington, DC. The Order of the Black Star (''Ordre de l'Étoile Noire'') was an order of knighthood established on 1 December 1889 at Porto-Novo by Toffa, future king of Dahomey (today the Republic of Benin).
