Bengt Lindroos
Bengt Ingmar Lindroos (22 September 1918 – 22 August 2010) was a Swedish architect. Lindroos started drafting houses for a local builder at the age of 17 years and received his formal education at the Royal Institute of Technology from 1942-45. After being employed by Sven Markelius, he opened an office together with Hans Borgström in 1954. He designed the Kaknästornet television tower in 1967. He was awarded the Prince Eugen Medal in 1983. He designed in the 1986 Kasper Salin Prize-winning building block Kvarteret Drottningen. He also designed the prize of the competition. Death Lindroos died on 22 August 2010, aged 92. |

Prince Eugen Medal
The Prince Eugen Medal ( sv, Prins Eugen-medaljen) is a medal conferred by the King of Sweden for "outstanding artistic achievement". The medal was established in 1945 by the then King of Sweden, Gustaf V, in connection with the eightieth birthday of his brother Prince Eugen who was a noted painter and art collector. It is awarded every year on 5 November, the name day of Eugen, and presented to the winners at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. History and profile The first issue of ''Svenska Dagbladet'' appeared on 18 December 1884. During the beginning of the 1900s the paper was one of the right-wing publications in Stockholm. Ivar Anderson is among its former editors-in-chief who assumed the post in 1940. The same year ''Svenska Dagbladet'' was sold by Trygger family to the Enterprise Fund which had been established by fourteen Swedish businessmen to secure the ownership of the paper. Det Akademiske Kvarter, more commonly known as Kvarteret, is a student cultural center in Bergen, Norway. It is situated on Olav Kyrres gate in the center of Bergen, within walking distance of both the main shopping areas and the University of Bergen. Finspång Municipality (''Finspångs kommun'') is a municipality in Östergötland County in Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Finspång, with some 13,000 inhabitants. Nature The municipality refers to itself as Sweden's most lake-dense municipality, with at least 170 named lakes. The municipality boasts that one can swim in a different lake each day of the year as there are 366 different ones. History Finspång is a traditional industrial city. The first industries were established in 1580 when a Royal factory for cannon and cannon balls was supervised. The industry was to continue for 300 years under supervision of the Dutch-stemming family De Geer. Sven Markelius
Sven Gottfrid Markelius (25 October 1889 – 24 February 1972) was a Swedish modernist architect. Markelius played an important role in the post-war urban planning of Stockholm, for example in the creation of the model suburbs of Vällingby (1950s) and Farsta (1960s). Biography Born in Stockholm, he attended the Royal Institute of Technology and the Academy of Arts in Stockholm from 1910 to 1915, later working at the offices of Ragnar Östberg and Erik Lallerstedt. He developed an early interest in housing and planning, was one of the founder members of CIAM in 1928, and participated in the modernist housing section of the Stockholm International Exhibition (1930), the birth of Swedish Functionalism. In 1931, he co-authored the book-length manifesto ''"acceptera"'', promoting modernism as a set of cultural values.
