''Shikar'' (Meaning: Hunt) is a 2006 Bengali film written and directed by Saran Dutta and produced under the banner of Cine Friends 2003. The film features actors Koel Mallick, Amitabh Bhattacharjee and Rajesh Sharma in the lead roles. Music of the film has been composed by Ashok Bhadra. The film released on 1 December 2006. Plot An astrologer by profession, Baburam Panja (Shantilal Mukherjee) is the gang-leader of a group of goons who murder people for money. Tarun Majumdar (or Mazumdar, 22 September 1931 – 4 July 2022) was an Indian film director and Screenwriter who is known for his work in Bengali cinema. He received four National Awards, seven BFJA Awards, five Filmfare Awards and an Anandalok Award. In 1990, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award. He alongside Sachin Mukherji and Dilip Mukherji made his directorial debut, under the screen name Yatrik, with the 1959 Bengali film '' Chaowa Pawa'' starring Suchitra Sen and Uttam Kumar as the leads. He received his first National Award for the 1962 Bengali film ''Kancher Swarga''. Pulak Bandyopadhyay (; 2 May 1931 – 7 September 1999) was a Bengali Indian lyricist and songwriter of Bengali cinema. Early life He was born and brought up in Salkia, Howrah.
