Benchasiri Park
Benchasiri Park ( th, สวนเบญจสิริ, , ; "Park Commemorating the Fifth Cycle Birthday Anniversary") is a garden located on Sukhumvit Road, Khlong Toei District, Bangkok, Thailand. Built on next door to the Emporium and Emsphere shopping complex, it serves to commemorate the fifth cycle (sixtieth) birthday anniversary of Queen Sirikit on 12 August 1992. Construction began in 1990 on land which originally housed the Bangkok Meteorological Department until its relocation to Bang Na. Built around an ornamental lake, it contains 12 pieces of contemporary sculpture by Thai artists and is often used for open-air events. The Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park, formerly known as The Imperial Queen's Park Hotel, Bangkok, is the largest hotel in Bangkok with his 1,251 rooms. Khlong Toei (also Klong Toey, th, คลองเตย, ) is a district in central Bangkok, long known for its slum. It is bordered by the Chao Phraya River and contains major port facilities. Emporium is a luxury shopping mall in Khlong Toei District, Bangkok, Thailand. It opened in 1997. It is owned and operated by The Mall Group, who also operate the EmQuartier and Siam Paragon malls in Bangkok. It is on Sukhumvit Road at Sukhumvit Soi 24 beside Benchasiri Park. It is connected directly to the Phrom Phong Station on the Sukhumvit Line of the BTS Skytrain by a footbridge. Queen Sirikit ( th, สิริกิติ์; ; ); born ''Mom Rajawongse'' Sirikit Kitiyakara ( th, สิริกิติ์ กิติยากร; ; 12 August 1932) is the queen mother of Thailand. She was Queen of Thailand as the wife of Bhumibol Adulyadej (or King Rama IX) and is the mother of the current King Vajiralongkorn (or King Rama X).
