Ben Raine
Benjamin Alexander Raine (born 14 September 1991) is an English cricketer. Raine is a left-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium-fast, playing for Durham. He was born in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. Raine made a single appearance for Northumberland against Shropshire in 2010 MCCA Knockout Trophy. In 2011, Raine made his debut for Durham in a List A match in the Clydesdale Bank 40 against Warwickshire. Later in the 2011 season, Raine made his first-class debut against Sri Lanka A. In this match, he was dismissed in Durham's first-innings for 4 runs by Shaminda Eranga, while in their second-innings he was dismissed for 7 runs by Sachithra Senanayake. Sunderland, Tyne And Wear
Sunderland () is a port city in Tyne and Wear, England. It is the City of Sunderland's administrative centre and in the historic county of Durham. The city is from Newcastle-upon-Tyne and is on the River Wear's mouth to the North Sea. The river also flows through Durham roughly south-west of Sunderland City Centre. Seam Bowling
Seam bowling is a bowling technique in cricket whereby the ball is deliberately bowled on to its seam, to cause a random deviation when the ball bounces. Practitioners are known as ''seam bowlers'' or seamers. Seam bowling is generally classed as a subtype of fast bowling, although the bowling speeds at which seam can be a factor include medium-pace bowling. Although there are specialist seamers that make deliberate use of off cutter and leg cutter at the expense of bowling slower than regular fast bowlers, most bowlers employ the seam to some effect and so the terms "seamer" and "fast bowler" are largely synonymous. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. Worcestershire County Cricket Club
Worcestershire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Worcestershire. Its Vitality Blast T20 team has been rebranded the Worcestershire Rapids, but the county is known by most fans as 'the Pears'. The club is based at New Road, Worcester. Not Out
In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Usually two batters finish not out if the batting side declares in first-class cricket, and often at the end of the scheduled number of overs in limited overs cricket. Batters further down the batting order than the not out batters do not come out to the crease at all and are noted as ''did not bat'' rather than ''not out''; by contrast, a batter who comes to the crease but faces no balls is ''not out''. 2022 County Championship
The 2022 County Championship (referred to as the LV= Insurance County Championship for sponsorship reasons) was the 122nd cricket County Championship season in England and Wales. The season began on 7 April and ended on 29 September 2022. Warwickshire were the defending champions. In October 2021, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced that the tournament would return to the format of two divisions, with ten teams in Division One, and eight teams in Division Two. The teams were placed into the division they qualified for following the 2019 County Championship, after the 2020 season was completely cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Senanayake Mudiyanselage Sachithra Madhushanka Senanayake, commonly called Sachithra Senanayake ( si, සචිත්ර සේනානායක; born 9 February 1985) is a former professional Sri Lankan cricketer who played all three formats of the game and a singer. Ranaweera Mudiyanselage Shaminda Eranga (born 23 June 1986), or Shaminda Eranga, is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer. He studied at St. Mary's College in Chilaw. International career Shaminda made his One Day International debut for Sri Lanka on 16 August 2011 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota against Australia. He made his test debut on September 16, 2011, and took a wicket with his first ball, becoming the 15th player to do so in the history of test cricket. First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. 2011 English Cricket Season
The 2011 English cricket season was the 112th in which the County Championship had been an official competition. It began on 2 April with a round of university matches, and continued until the final of the Clydesdale Bank 40 on 17 September. Three major domestic competitions were contested: the 2011 County Championship won by Lancashire, the 2011 Clydesdale Bank 40 won by Surrey and the 2011 Friends Life t20 won by Leicestershire.
