Ben Marschke ( ,) (born 19 June 1997) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays as a for the Sydney Roosters in the National Rugby League (NRL). Background Marschke was born in Bundaberg, Queensland and played his junior rugby league for the Across The Waves Tigers and attended St Luke's Anglican School and Shalom College before being signed by the Sydney Roosters. Marschke is of Irish descent. Playing career In 2013, Marschke played for the Central Crows in the Cyril Connell Cup. In 2014, he moved up to their Mal Meninga Cup side. In 2015, Marschke moved to Sydney, playing for the Roosters in the SG Ball Cup. In 2016 and 2017, Marschke played for the Roosters' under-20s team. In 2018, Marschke played for the Penrith Panthers in the NSW Cup. In 2019, he played for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs NSW Cup side. Bundaberg is a city in the Bundaberg Region, Queensland, Australia, and is the tenth largest city in the state. 2020 NRL Nines
The 2020 NRL Nines was the fifth edition of the NRL Nines rugby league nines and the first one hosted outside of Auckland. It was played at HBF Park, Perth on 14–15 February 2020. Just like previous tournaments, it was contested by all 16 National Rugby League teams, but for the first time, the four NRL Women's Premiership teams played as well, as opposed to the Jillaroos and Kiwi Ferns like in former editions. The men's tournament was split into four pools of four teams (1, 2, 3 & 4) and then into two groups of two teams in each pool (A & B). Each side was initially to play two games, against the teams from the other group of their pool. The top two teams in each pool then played off in a knockout-style tournament. The women's tournament, meanwhile, was a round-robin with each team playing three games, one against each of the others, before the top two teams met in the final. 2022 NRL Season
The 2022 NRL season is the 115th season of professional rugby league in Australia and the 25th season run by the National Rugby League. Teams The lineup of teams remained unchanged for the 16th consecutive year. This became the second longest stretch of time (after 1947-1966 - 20 seasons) of a continuous line-up of teams in competition history (overtaking 1967-1981 - 15 seasons). Pre-season Pre-season matches were played between 12 February and 28 February 2022, before a 10-day lead up until the beginning of the regular season. It featured nineteen matches across three weekends, including the 2022 All Stars match, which was won by the Māori All Stars 16 – 10, and the annual Charity Shield match between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and St George Illawarra Dragons, which the Dragons won 16–10. New Zealand Warriors
The New Zealand Warriors are a professional rugby league football club based in Auckland, New Zealand that competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership and is the League's only team from outside Australia. They were formed in 1995 as the Auckland Warriors, and are officially known as the One New Zealand Warriors for sponsorship reasons. The Warriors are coached by Andrew Webster and captained by Tohu Harris. The Warriors are based at Mount Smart Stadium in the Auckland suburb of Penrose. For the 1995 season the newly formed Auckland Warriors became the first club from outside Australia to be admitted to the Australian Rugby League's premiership when it expanded from 16 to 20 teams.
