Ben Harrison (sound Designer)
Ben Harrison is a British sound designer specialising in musical theatre and live events. Career Between 2002 and 2007 Harrison was head of sound at Leicester Haymarket Theatre where he designed sound for productions of ''West Side Story''; ''The Lion'', ''The Witch and the Wardrobe''; ''Hot Stuff - the Christmas Edition''; ''Macbeth''; ''An Illustrious Corpse''; ''Beautiful Thing''; ''The Fortune Club''; ''East''; ''Divine;'' ''The Bogus Woman'' (which production later traveled to Adelaide & New York); ''The Good Woman of Schezuan''; Steven Sondheim's ''Pacific Overtures''; ''The Happy Prince''; and ''The Wizard of Oz''. Harrison designed the Laurence Olivier Award-winning production of ''Cabaret'' at the Lyric Theatre in London in 2007. Harrison also designed with Will Young the sound for the ''Cabaret'' production at the Savoy Theatre in 2012 and at the King's Theatre in Edinburgh in 2013. Leicester Haymarket Theatre
The Leicester Haymarket Theatre is a theatre in Leicester, England, next to the Haymarket Shopping Centre on Belgrave Gate in Leicester City centre. History The Haymarket Theatre was opened by Sir Ralph Richardson and the opening season started with ''The Recruiting Officer'' on 17 October 1973, ''Economic Necessity'' on 24 October and ''Cabaret'' on 21 November. Leicester City Council purchased a 99-year lease of the theatre in 1974. Between 1974 and 2007 the theatre was operated by The Leicester Theatre Trust. The trust vacated the theatre in 2007 when it moved to the newly built Curve Theatre, Leicester in Leicester's Cultural Quarter. The last show held at the Haymarket by the Leicester Theatre Trust was '' Wizard of Oz'' starring Helena Blackman and Ceri Dupree in 2006. Laurence Olivier Award
The Laurence Olivier Awards, or simply the Olivier Awards, are presented annually by the Society of London Theatre to recognise excellence in professional theatre in London at an annual ceremony in the capital. The awards were originally known as the Society of West End Theatre Awards, but they were renamed in honour of the British actor of the same name in 1984. Savoy Theatre
The Savoy Theatre is a West End theatre in the Strand in the City of Westminster, London, England. The theatre was designed by C. J. Phipps for Richard D'Oyly Carte and opened on 10 October 1881 on a site previously occupied by the Savoy Palace. Its intended purpose was to showcase the popular series of comic operas of Gilbert and Sullivan, which became known as the Savoy operas. The theatre was the first public building in the world to be lit entirely by electricity. For many years, the Savoy Theatre was the home of the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company, which continued to be run by the Carte family for over a century. Sir Thomas Hicks (born 17 December 1936), known professionally as Tommy Steele, is an English entertainer, regarded as Britain's first teen idol and rock and roll star. Edinburgh Playhouse is a theatre in Edinburgh, Scotland. With 3,059 seats it is the second largest theatre in the United Kingdom after the Hammersmith Apollo.
