Ben Gardner
Benjamin David Gardner (born April 29, 1991) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) who played for the Dallas Cowboys and San Diego Chargers. He was selected by the Cowboys in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at Stanford. Early years Gardner graduated in 2009 from Homestead High School. As a senior in 2008–09, Gardner was a team captain and defensive end on the football team which won the Wisconsin Division I state championship. He received numerous top honors including 2008 Associated Press 1st-team All-State; 2008 WFCA 1st-Team All-State; 2008 all-North Shore Conference First; and 2008 North Shore Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). Greg Hardy
Gregory McKarl Hardy (born July 28, 1988) is an American former football defensive end, mixed martial artist and professional boxer who played in the National Football League (NFL) for six seasons, primarily with the Carolina Panthers. He played college football at Ole Miss and was selected by the Panthers in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Hardy's most successful season was in 2013 when he set the Panthers' single-season record for sacks, earning him Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors. During the following off-season, however, Hardy was found guilty of assaulting a former girlfriend. Although the case was dismissed after the victim failed to appear in court, the ensuing controversy led to him not being re-signed by the Panthers after playing one game with them in 2014. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured. Injured reserve lists are used because the rules of these leagues allow for only a certain numbers of players on each team's roster. The National Football League Draft, also called the NFL Draft or (officially) the Player Selection Meeting, is an annual event which serves as the league's most common source of player recruitment. Each team is given a position in the drafting order in reverse order relative to its record in the previous year, which means that the last place team is positioned first and the Super Bowl champion is last. The 2013 Rose Bowl, the 99th edition of the annual game, was a college football bowl game played on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at the same-named stadium in Pasadena, California. The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association is the organizer of the game. 2012 Pac-12 Football Championship Game
The 2012 Pac-12 Football Championship Game was played on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Stanford Stadium in Stanford, California to determine the 2012 football champion of the Pac-12 Conference (Pac-12). It was the second football conference championship for the Pac-12 Conference, or any of its predecessors. The game featured the South Division champions, the UCLA Bruins, against the North Division champions, the Stanford Cardinal. The previous week, the two teams had met at UCLA's home stadium at the Rose Bowl, with Stanford winning 35–17 and clinching the Pac-12 North Division championship. Stanford headed back to Pasadena for the January 1, 2013 Rose Bowl Game where they defeated the Wisconsin Badgers 20–14.
