Ben Connor (coach)
Ben Connor (born 17 October 1992) is a British runner who won the Night of 10,000m PBs event at the 2019 British Athletics Championships and the 2017 English National Cross Country Championships. Connor competed in the marathon event at the delayed 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Career Connor is a member of Derby Athletics Club. He has trained with Ray Treacy in the US, and in Manchester, United Kingdom. From 2019, Connor has been self-coached. In 2017, Connor won the English National Cross Country Championships. In the same year, he came sixth at the 2017 European Cross Country Championships, and fifth at the Night of 10,000m PBs race. In 2018, Connor came eighth at the Barcelona Half Marathon in a personal best time of 1:01:12. It was the eighth fastest time in history by a Briton. 2020 London Marathon
The 2020 London Marathon was the 40th running of the annual marathon race in London, United Kingdom, which took place on 4 October 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the race was postponed from 26 April and only allowed elite participants; the mass participation event was cancelled. The event used a different course from usual, consisting of multiple laps around St James's Park. The men's elite race was won by Ethiopian Shura Kitata, and the women's event was won by Kenyan Brigid Kosgei. The men's wheelchair race was won by Canadian Brent Lakatos, and the women's event was won by Dutchwoman Nikita den Boer. Chris Thompson (runner)
Christopher Thompson (born 17 April 1981) is a British long-distance runner, who won the silver medal in the 10,000 metres at the 2010 European Athletics Championships in Barcelona, on 27 July 2010 behind his compatriot Mo Farah. Prior to his 2010 medal win he had won the European U23 5000 m Championship in 2003. However he was initially unable to build on this victory, as he had substantial injury problems for a number of years. He is currently coached by Alan Storey. Thompson ran at the 2010 Great Yorkshire Run in September and came close to victory, but was edged out by a second by Australian Craig Mottram. 2021 British Athletics Marathon And 20km Walk Trial
The 2021 British Athletics Marathon and 20 km Walk Trial (known for sponsorship reasons as the Müller British Athletics Marathon and 20 km Walk Trials) was held on 26 March 2021 as a trial event for British athletes to qualify for the delayed 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. It was the first time since 1980 that a dedicated marathon trial event was held, and the courses consisted of multiple laps around Kew Gardens in London. The marathon events were won by Chris Thompson and Stephanie Davis, both of whom qualified for the Olympics as a result. The 20 km walk events were won by Callum Wilkinson and Heather Lewis, both of whom finished outside of their respective Olympic qualifying times; Wilkinson was later awarded a place at the Olympics.
