Ben Brode
Ben Brode is an American video game designer. He was the game director and public face of ''Hearthstone'' until 2018 when he left to found his own game studio, Second Dinner, where he is now Chief Creative Officer. Life and career Brode joined Blizzard Entertainment as a video game tester at the age of 20, working on Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, ''Warcraft III'' and ''World of Warcraft'', a position in which he worked for a total of 18 months before becoming Environment Test Lead. During his work testing these games he spent time making custom maps for ''Warcraft III'', one of which became 'Map of the Week' and was released to the wider community. Brode began looking for a new position at Blizzard, including applying for a position as a designer on StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, ''StarCraft II'', before finding himself in a creative position on the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game. BlizzCon 2013
BlizzCon is an annual gaming convention held by Blizzard Entertainment to promote its major franchises including ''Warcraft'', '' StarCraft'', '' Diablo'', '' Hearthstone'', ''Heroes of the Storm,'' and ''Overwatch''. The first BlizzCon was held in October 2005, and since then, all of the conventions have been held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, in the same metropolitan area as Blizzard's headquarters in Irvine. The convention features game-related announcements, previews of upcoming Blizzard Entertainment games and content, Q&A sessions and panels, costume contests, and playable versions of various Blizzard games. ''StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty'' is a science fiction real-time strategy video game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. The game features a collection of different Marvel characters from the Marvel Universe. The game was released on October 18, 2022, after a period of beta testing. Gameplay Players each have a deck of 12 cards. Each card depicts a Marvel character with cost, power level, and potentially a special ability. At the start of each round, players simultaneously put one card or more face down on one of three locations. Locations are randomly assigned for each match, and each location has a unique effect.
