Beloved (I Killed The Prom Queen Album)
''Beloved'' is the third and final full-length studio album by Australian metalcore band I Killed the Prom Queen. It was released in Australia on 14 February 2014 and in US on 18 February 2014. The album was streamed on Alternative Press's website on 5 February 2014. This is the first album from the band since its reformation along with three new members, Jamie Hope (vocals), Shane O'Brien (drums) and Benjamin Coyte (bass). Critical reception At ''Alternative Press'', Dan Slessor rated the album four stars out of five stars, stating that "the finished product more than justifies the wait." Andrew Kapper of About.com concluded that "Beloved is without doubt a strong comeback for the band, but it does have a couple of weak points in the armor, both of which fall into the same category. The lack of big anthems will probably make the album uneventful for casual fans, while the heavier parts rely on the same format and almost become indistinguishable from one another." I Killed The Prom Queen
I Killed the Prom Queen were an Australian metalcore band from Adelaide, formed in 2000. They were prominent in the Australian live music scene and toured the US, Japan and parts of Europe several times. They issued three studio albums: ''When Goodbye Means Forever...'' (2003), ''Music for the Recently Deceased'' (2006) – the latter reached the top 30 on the ARIA Charts, ARIA Albums Chart, and most recently ''Beloved (I Killed the Prom Queen album), Beloved'' (2014). The band split up in April 2007 due to the inability to find a permanent vocalist. They reformed with vocalist Michael Crafter to play a farewell tour in mid-2008 and released a live album and DVD, ''Sleepless Nights and City Lights'', which peaked in the top 50. Jona Weinhofen (born 1 January 1983) is an Australian musician. He was the lead guitarist for metalcore band I Killed the Prom Queen, rhythm guitarist for British band Bring Me the Horizon from 2009 to 2013 and the guitarist for Californian band Bleeding Through from 2007 to 2009. In September 2021, he joined Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows alongside Craig Owens. Formed in late 1995 by Björn Strid and Peter Wichers, originally under the name ''Inferior Breed'', the band changed their name in late 1996 to Soilwork (meaning "working from the ground up"). Björn Ove Ingemar "Speed" Strid (born 10 September 1978) is a Swedish vocalist who has worked with bands such as Allegaeon, Disarmonia Mundi, Terror 2000, Coldseed, The Night Flight Orchestra, Act of Denial, Gizmachi, and most notably Soilwork. Early life Strid was born in Helsingborg. He gained the nickname "Speed" from fellow students as a result of the "extreme music" he was known to enjoy. Career Strid co-founded Soilwork in 1995 under the name Inferior Breed which was later changed to Soilwork once the fledgling band's sound began to take shape. He is the only original member still in the band. Most of Soilwork's lyrics are written by Strid himself.
