Belmont Park Racecourse
Belmont Park Racecourse is one of the two major horse racing venues within the Perth, Western Australia metropolitan area, the other being Ascot Racecourse, and is located just outside of the central business district on the Burswood Peninsula surrounded by the Swan River. Burswood is an inner southeastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located immediately across the Swan River from Perth's central business district (CBD). Its local government area is the Town of Victoria Park. Burswood is the location of the State Tennis Centre, Perth Stadium, Belmont Park Racecourse, and the Crown Perth casino and hotel complex. Belmont Park (French: ''Parc Belmont'') was an amusement park that operated between 1923 and 1983 in the Montreal neighborhood of Cartierville in Quebec, Canada. Located on the banks of Riviere des Prairies, Belmont Park was best known for its wooden roller coaster, the ''Cyclone'', but at one time or another had a Philadelphia Toboggan Company carousel, Ferris wheel, picnic grounds, dance hall, swimming pool, roller skating rink plus numerous other rides for adults and a "Kiddieland." Belmont Regional Park is a regional park located between Lower Hutt and Porirua, in the Wellington Region at the southern end of New Zealand's North Island. Belmont Park (also called Belmont Pleasure Grounds) is a public park in Exeter, England. Opened to the public in 1886 as a children's play area, it was subsequently enlarged for the use of the general public. Location The park is bounded by Belmont Road, Blackboy Road, Gordon Road, Jesmond Road, Grosvener Place and Clifton Hill and is in close proximity to Clifton Hill Sports Centre and Clifton Hill Driving Range. Features The Newtown Community Association, the Exeter Scrapstore and the Belmont Bowling Club are all located at the park. There is an area for soccer practice or other "kick about" activity, and an area dedicated to half court basketball. Seating is provided and open spaces are available for picnics. Belmont Park is a major thoroughbred horse racing facility in the northeastern United States, located in Elmont, New York, just east of the New York City limits. It was opened on May 4, 1905.
