Bellingham Bells
The Bellingham Bells are a collegiate summer baseball team in the West Coast League. The team is composed of college baseball players from teams around the U.S. In recent years, the Bells have produced a number of Major League players including Marc Rzepczynski of the 2011 World Series Champion St. Louis Cardinals, Jeff Francis of the 2007 National League Champion Colorado Rockies, Adrian Sampson ( Texas Rangers), Spencer Howard (Philadelphia Phillies), Seth Martinez (Houston Astros), Michael Rucker (Chicago Cubs) and Whatcom County natives Ty Taubenheim (Toronto Blue Jays), Kevin Richardson ( Texas Rangers). Bellingham also rostered former Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker while he was playing football at the University of Washington. West Coast League
The West Coast League (WCL) is a collegiate summer baseball wooden bat league founded in 2005, comprising teams from Washington, Oregon, British Columbia and Alberta. The WCL was previously named the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League (WCCBL), but in 2008 renamed as the West Coast League. The league is designed to develop college talent, and only current college-eligible players are allowed to participate. The West Coast League has produced dozens of professional players, including a number of major leaguers. League teams are operated similarly to professional minor-league teams. The WCL's season typically runs from early June through the middle of August. Lewis–Clark State College is a public college in the northwest United States, located in north central Idaho at Lewiston. Founded in 1893, it has an approximate annual enrollment of 3,600. UCLA Bruins Baseball
The UCLA Bruins baseball team is the varsity college baseball team of the University of California, Los Angeles. Having started playing in 1920, the program is a member of the NCAA Division I Pac-12 Conference. It plays its home games at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Matt McLain
Matthew Michael McLain (born August 6, 1999) is an American professional baseball shortstop in the Cincinnati Reds organization. He played college baseball for the UCLA Bruins. McLain was selected by the Reds with the 17th overall pick in the 2021 Major League Baseball draft. Amateur career McLain attended Arnold O. Beckman High School in Irvine, California. He committed to attend the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), to play college baseball for the UCLA Bruins. As a high school senior, he batted .369 with three home runs. He was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the first round with the 25th overall selection of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft. However, he did not sign, and instead chose to enroll at UCLA. The California Golden Bears are the athletic teams that represent the University of California, Berkeley.
