Bellevue Hill is a neighborhood in West Roxbury comprising the areas roughly between Lagrange Street, Centre Street, and the West Roxbury Parkway. Defined by its leafy streets and stately homes, Bellevue Hill is one of the most upscale neighborhoods outside of Boston's downtown core. Bellevue Hill is also the highest natural point in the city of Boston and Suffolk County. It rises to a height of 330 feet (101m) above sea level. West Roxbury
West Roxbury is a neighborhood in Boston, Massachusetts bordered by Roslindale and Jamaica Plain to the northeast, the town of Brookline to the north, the cities and towns of Newton and Needham to the northwest and the town of Dedham to the southwest. West Roxbury is often mistakenly confused with Roxbury, but, by around 6 miles, the two are not connected. West Roxbury is separated from Roxbury by Jamaica Plain and Roslindale. West Roxbury Parkway
West Roxbury Parkway is a historic parkway running from Washington Street in Boston, Massachusetts, where the Enneking Parkway runs south, to Horace James Circle in Brookline, where it meets the Hammond Pond Parkway. The parkway serves as a connector between Stony Brook Reservation and Hammond Pond Reservation (via Hammond Pond Parkway). West Roxbury Parkway was built between 1919 and 1929 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. The parkway is distinctive in the roadway system developed by the Metropolitan District Commission beginning around the turn of the 20th century in that it was built in collaboration with the City of Boston, and is maintained by the city. Bellevue Standpipe is a historic water storage tank on Bellevue Hill at Washington Street and West Roxbury Parkway in the Stony Brook Reservation of Boston, Massachusetts. Built in 1914, it is one of three early 20th-century water tanks built as part of Greater Boston's public water supply. The structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. The standpipe is built out of poured concrete faced in rough-cut granite, and measures in height and in diameter. Inside the structure is a steel tank high and in diameter.
