Belleville High School East is a public high school in Belleville, Illinois, United States. It is part of Belleville Township High School District. It was established in 1966. History Prior to 1966, Belleville Township School District operated only one school, Belleville Township High School, which was the old Belleville West campus (a new campus has since been built). The growth of the district prompted the local board of education to construct a new campus and divide the student body between the two schools. The new campus was built in a college format with many different buildings. The newly commissioned Belleville Area College (now Southwestern Illinois College) occupied half of the campus while the new high school occupied the other. Enrollment in the school increased rapidly and the college was forced to move to a new location. Major renovations were completed in 2009. Belleville is a city and the county seat of St. Clair County, Illinois, coterminous with the now defunct Belleville Township. It is also the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Belleville and the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows. Robert 'Bob' Farmer (born 2 June 1947) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Collingwood in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1960s. A centre half forward, Farmer was aged just 16 years and 363 days when he made his senior VFL debut in 1964. He struggled to establish a place in the Collingwood team which made the finals in five of the six seasons that he was at the club, although he had a good season in 1968, kicking 22 goals and was chosen to represent Australia in the 'Galahs' World Tour that year. Paul A. Gompers is an American economist. He is the Eugene Holman Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School. He is the co-author of three books. Early life Paul A. Randy David Wells (born August 28, 1982) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago Cubs. Professional career Wells was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 38th round (1,143rd overall) of the 2002 MLB draft as a catcher. He spent his career in the Chicago Cubs farm system from to before being claimed in the Rule 5 Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays before the season.
