Beliris
Beliris is a joint venture between the Belgian Federal State and the Brussels Region. Governance Beliris is responsible for a range of construction projects in Belgium, improving infrastructure and cementing Brussels' role as a European capital. It is responsible for building new transport infrastructure, urban renewal, and restoring some historic buildings. Initially, the federal government allocated €125 million of annual funding; but the 2023-2024 budget is €771 million to support some major projects. Brussels Metro Line 3
Line 3 is a planned expansion of the Brussels Metro, running from Albert premetro station, Albert, through the existing ''Trams in Brussels, premetro'' (underground tram) tunnel, and eventually terminating at Bordet railway station, Bordet. , it is under construction. History A very similar metro line was planned in 1969, but this project did not go ahead. In 2009, STIB/MIVB's director-general Alain Flausch announced plans to develop north–south metro lines, because it was increasingly difficult to improve surface transport in dense suburbs, and said a line to Bordet had political consensus. In 2010, Beliris commissioned a study into the route, with approximately and 7 stations. The plan was approved in 2013, with construction scheduled to start in 2018 and the first metros running in 2022. Schuman-Josaphat Tunnel
The Schuman-Josaphat tunnel is a double track rail tunnel in Brussels, which entered into service on 4 April 2016. It links line 161 (Brussels-Namur) just after Meiser station and line 26 (Halle-Vilvoorde) at the Cinquantenaire/Jubelpark tunnel just before Schuman station. The line is numbered L161A. A key component of the Brussels RER project, it passes beneath avenue Plasky/Plaskylaan, place de Jamblinne de Meux/Jamblinne de Meuxplein and the Cortenbergh/Kortenberg road tunnel. The position of the tunnel in the Brussels rail network is shown in the simplified map on the right. Cinquantenaire Park
The Parc du Cinquantenaire (French for "Park of the Fiftieth Anniversary", pronounced ) or Jubelpark ( Dutch for "Jubilee Park", pronounced ) is a large public, urban park of in the easternmost part of the European Quarter in Brussels, Belgium. Most buildings of the U-shaped complex that dominate the park were commissioned by the Belgian Government under the patronage of King Leopold II for the 1880 ''National Exhibition'' commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Belgian Revolution. During successive exhibitions, more structures were added to the site. The centrepiece memorial arch, known as the Cinquantenaire Arch (french: Arc du Cinquantenaire, link=no, nl, Triomfboog van het Jubelpark, link=no), was erected in 1905, replacing a previous temporary version of the arcade by Gédéon Bordiau.
