Belgium Rugby Union Team
The Belgium national rugby union team (french: Équipe nationale de Belgique de Rugby de XV) (German: Belgische Rugby-Nationalmannschaft) represents Belgium in men's international rugby union competitions, nicknamed Diables Noirs / Zwarte Duivels (''Black Devils''). Although Belgium are currently 27th in World Rugby rankings, they are yet to participate in a Rugby World Cup and currently compete in the first division of the European Nations Cup, which they have been playing in since 2017. Rugby union in Belgium is administered by the Belgian Rugby Federation. History The Belgium rugby team played their first match on 13 March 1932 against the Netherlands. The Belgian Rugby Federation (FBRB – ''Fédération Belge de Rugby'' in French and ''Belgische Rugby Bond'' in Dutch) is the governing body for rugby union in Belgium. It was founded in 1931 and became affiliated to the International Rugby Board in 1988. The Belgian Federation of Rugby (FBRB) is responsible for organizing and developing rugby union in Belgium. The Italy national rugby union team (Italian: ''Squadra nazionale italiana di rugby'') represents Italy in men's international rugby union. The team is known as ''gli Azzurri'' (the light-blues). Savoy blue is the common colour of the national teams representing Italy, as it is the traditional colour of the royal House of Savoy which reigned over the Kingdom of Italy from 1860 to 1946. For the 1995 Rugby World Cup qualifiers, the European Federation was allocated three places in the final tournament. This was in addition to the four places granted to England, France, Ireland and Scotland based on their results from 1991. 1987 Rugby World Cup
The 1987 Rugby World Cup was the first Rugby World Cup. It was co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia – New Zealand hosted 21 matches (17 pool stage matches, two quarter-finals, the third-place play-off and the final) while Australia hosted 11 matches (seven pool matches, two quarter-finals and both semi-finals). The tournament was won by New Zealand, who were the strong favourites and won all their matches comfortably. New Zealand defeated France 29–9 in the final at Eden Park in Auckland. Jacques Rogge
Jacques Jean Marie Rogge, Count Rogge (, ; 2 May 1942 – 29 August 2021) was a Belgian sports administrator and physician who served as the eighth President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) from 2001 to 2013. In 2013, Rogge became the IOC's Honorary President, a lifetime position, which he held until his death in 2021. Life and career Rogge was born in Ghent, Belgium, during the Nazi Germany occupation. He was the son of Suzanne and Charles Rogge, an engineer. Rogge was by profession an orthopedic surgeon and was educated at the Jesuit private school Sint-Barbaracollege and the University of Ghent. The 2011 Rugby World Cup was the seventh Rugby World Cup, a quadrennial international rugby union competition inaugurated in 1987. 2010–12 European Nations Cup First Division
The 2010–12 European Nations Cup is the premier rugby union competition below the Six Nations Championship in Europe. The divisions play on a two-year cycle with the teams playing each other both home and away. From 2009 onward, the title is awarded according to a one-year ranking. Georgia won the 2011 title. The competition was altered slightly for the 2010–2012 edition. The top division, formerly Division 1, now Division 1A, saw the relegation of Germany, which was replaced with Ukraine.
