Belgium Men's National Volleyball Team
The Belgian national volleyball team is a team of volleyball players that represents Belgium at international championships. Belgium won the European League title for the first time in impressive in 2013 as they swept the Czech Republic and Croatia in the semifinal and gold medal match respectively. Belgium in 2014 was their first World Championship outing since 1978 and they have largely been restricted to competing at European level. Emanuele Zanini
Emanuele Zanini (born 15 April 1965) is an Italian professional volleyball coach. He currently serves as head coach for the Belgium national team. Career as coach He studied physical education at the University of Bologna graduating in 1988. He became a head coach in 2000. Zanini coached in his career several teams in Italy and also in Austria, Slovakia, France and Poland. In 1999–2000, he served as an assistant and a coach of physical preparation of the Italy men's national volleyball team. Since 2008, he has coached Slovakian men's national team for four seasons leading to their best results in the history. In August 2013, he was appointed a head coach of the Turkey men's national team for three years. He replaced Bosnian-born Frenchman Veljko Basic, who served at this post since 2010. 2010 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship
The 2010 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship was held in Italy from 25 September to 10 October 2010. The tournament featured 24 teams to determine the world champions in men's volleyball. In addition to 2006 champion Brazil and host nation Italy, 22 teams qualified for the tournament by means of continental and regional competitions. The matches took place in ten venues across ten Italian cities, with the final being held at the PalaLottomatica, Rome. The tournament was won by Brazil, who beat Cuba in final. Brazil won their third straight world championship having won previously in 2002 and 2006. The podium was completed by Serbia who defeated Italy in the 3rd place match. Brazilian wing-spiker Murilo Endres was named the tournament MVP. Brazil's victory continued their eight-year period of domination of world volleyball. 2006 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship
The 2006 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship was held in Japan from 17 November to 3 December 2006. Like the previous edition, 24 teams participated in the tournament. Brazil won the Tournament (retaining their championship title), defeating Poland 3:0 in the final match. Bulgaria placed 3rd, defeating Serbia and Montenegro 3:1 in the 3rd place match. The Polish team dedicated this achievement to the deceased Polish volleyball player Arkadiusz Gołaś. The team honored him at the award ceremony, when they wore T-shirts with the number 16 and the words "Golas". Host Finals hosts Japan. The tournament was held in six Japan cities.
