''Belgica'' is a 2016 Belgian drama film directed by Felix Van Groeningen, written by Van Groeningen and . It stars , , Hélène Devos, and . The movie is based upon a true story and revolves around a group of friends trying to run a bar where rock bands come to play. ''Belgica'' has since then become a cult film. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 21, 2016. It was released in Belgium and France on March 2, 2016, by Kinepolis Film Distribution and Pyramide Distribution. Plot Jo runs “Belgica”, an artistic pub in Ghent where all kind of people are welcome. His brother Frank is shareholder in a second-handed car company. 7th Magritte Awards
The 7th Magritte Awards ceremony, presented by the Académie André Delvaux, honored the best films of 2016 in Belgium and took place on 4 February 2017 at the Square in the historic site of Mont des Arts, Brussels, beginning at 8:00 p.m. CET.
