Belarus (tractor)
Belarus (, earlier ) is a series of four-wheeled tractors produced since 1950 at Minsk Tractor Works, MTZ ( be, Мінскі трактарны завод; russian: Ми́нский тра́кторный заво́д, МТЗ) in Minsk, Belarus. These tractors are very well known throughout the Commonwealth of Independent States and are exported to more than 100 countries worldwide, including the United States and Canada. History At the end of World War II, agricultural infrastructure in the Soviet Union was in a poor state, production of agricultural machinery having been nonexistent during the later years of the War. Those tractors and machinery still working on the large collective farms were worn from heavy use and also dated, with most having been produced in the early 1930s or earlier. Belarus (Беларусь) is a Belarusian manufacturer of upright pianos, founded in 1935 in Belarus (then the Soviet Union). It was owned by the joint-stock company A joint-stock company is a business entity in which shares of the company's capital stock, stock can be bought and sold by shareholders. Radio Belarus ( Belarusian: ''Радыё "Беларусь"'') was the official international broadcasting station of Belarus. The station has ceased broadcasting on shortwave and mediumwave as of 1 April 2016. History Radio Belarus has broadcast on the international shortwave bands since 11 May 1962. Originally the programs were broadcast in Belarusian. In 1985, broadcasting in German was launched, and in 1998 they began broadcasting Russian and English versions. Since 2006 the radio has started broadcasting in Polish, while 2010 saw the launch of French and Spanish language programming. The station used to offer 16 hours of radio content in 7 languages and 10 hours of real-time online English programming daily.
