Beijing Olympic Broadcasting
Beijing Olympic Broadcasting Co., Ltd (BOB) ( zh, c=北京奥林匹克转播有限公司, p=Běijīng àolínpǐkè zhuǎnbò yǒuxiàn gōngsī) was a Chinese broadcasting consortium which produced the main international feeds for the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2008 Summer Paralympics. 2008 Summer Olympics
The 2008 Summer Olympics (), officially the Games of the XXIX Olympiad () and also known as Beijing 2008 (), were an international multisport event held from 8 to 24 August 2008, in Beijing, China. A total of 10,942 athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) competed in 28 sports and 302 events, one event more than those scheduled for the 2004 Summer Olympics. This was the first time China had hosted the Olympic Games, and the third time the Summer Olympic Games had been held in East Asia, following the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, and the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. The 2008 Summer Paralympic Games (), the 13th Summer Paralympic Games, took place in Beijing, China from September 6 to 17, 2008. Beijing Organizing Committee For The Olympic Games
The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, or BOCOG, also known as the Beijing Organizing Committee, was an informal name for the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad. It was also the organizing committee for the Games of the XIII Paralympiad. The President of BOCOG was Liu Qi (）, the then CPC secretary of Beijing Municipality. On January 28, 2008, BOCOG took control of the Water Cube. On August 22, 2009, BOCOG is officially dissolved. Its official website is now used by the Beijing Olympic City Development Association. (OBS) is a company which was established by the International Olympic Committee in 2001 in order to serve as the Host Broadcaster organisation for all Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, Olympic Winter Games and Youth Olympic Games, maintaining the standards of Olympic broadcasting between one edition and the next one.
