Before After
''Before After'' is the seventh studio album by the English synth-pop band Heaven 17. It was originally released in September 2005, on the label Ninthwave, nine years after their previous album, '' Bigger Than America''. The album reached #6 on the Billboard Magazine Club Play Chart in April 2006. In September 2008, the band's cover of Blue Öyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper" was featured on the American dark fantasy television series True Blood. A number of remixes of tracks from the album have appeared on online digital services such as iTunes and Amazon.com. It was the final album to feature founding member Ian Craig Marsh, who made the decision to retire from music in 2007. Angie Brown
Angie Brown (born 13 June 1963) is a British singer and songwriter from Brixton, South London. She is a co-artist on the hit single " I'm Gonna Get You" (1992) by Bizarre Inc and performed on a number of recordings with them as lead vocalist including the single "Took My Love" (1993) released by the record label Vinyl Solution. Billie Godfrey
Billie Godfrey is an English singer. Background Based in London and Brighton, Godfrey has been a vocalist for many artists and in her own right. She started her career as a radio DJ, playing the kind of music she would later go on to record. Godfrey writes much of her own material. Her stated influences include Stevie Wonder, Toni Braxton and Aretha Franklin. She is the first female vocalist from the UK to record an entire album in Japanese on ''Number One'' (2001) (JVC/Victor Entertainment Inc). Donald Roeser
Donald Roeser (born November 12, 1947), known by his stage name Buck Dharma, is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He is the sole constant member of hard rock band Blue Öyster Cult since the group's formation in 1967. He wrote and sang vocals on several of the band's best-known hits, including "(Don't Fear) The Reaper", " Godzilla" and " Burnin' for You". Early life Roeser was born in Queens, New York City. His father was an accomplished jazz saxophonist, and Roeser spent a lot of time listening to jazz music as a result. Because of this, Roeser developed an interest in the melodic arts at an early age, even playing the accordion for a brief time. ''How Men Are'' is the third studio album by English synth-pop band Heaven 17, released on 24 September 1984 by Virgin Records. The album peaked at No. 12 in the UK and was certified Silver (60,000 copies sold) by the BPI in October 1984. Three singles were released from this album: "Sunset Now" (UK #24), " This Is Mine" (UK #23) in 1984, and an edited remix of " ...(And That's No Lie)" (UK #52) in early 1985, which was the first Heaven 17 single to fail to reach the UK Top 40 since "Let Me Go" at the end of 1982. Although digital sample-based instruments such as the Fairlight CMI and the LinnDrum drum machine were still responsible for most of the album's sounds, ''How Men Are'' marked the beginning of an increased usage of acoustic instruments in Heaven 17's music. Penthouse And Pavement
''Penthouse and Pavement'' is the debut studio album by English new wave and synth-pop band Heaven 17, released in September 1981 by Virgin Records. "(We Don't Need This) Fascist Groove Thang" was released as a single, but did not achieve chart success, partly due to a ban by the BBC. The album sold reasonably well, but was not a great commercial success on release. It has since been regarded as "an important outing", is included in the book ''1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die'', and was re-released in 2010 in a three-disc special edition. The title track was included on the soundtrack of the 1993 erotic thriller film ''Sliver''. Reception Whilst the singles charted poorly, the album charted at No. 14 and remained in the Top 100 for 77 weeks. It was certified gold (100,000 copies sold) by the BPI in October 1982.
