Beersheba Theater
The Beersheba Theater (תיאטרון באר שבע) is a theater located in Beersheba, Israel. History The Beersheba Theater was established by actresses Naomi Blumenthal and Margalit Stander during Eliyahu Nawi's tenure as mayor of Beersheba. The actresses created the theater with the help of Bentz Carmel, who then served as Beersheva's deputy mayor and the councilmember responsible for cultural affairs. In 1973, after the theater had produced two plays, Geri Bilu was appointed as the organization's director. Bilu served as the theater's artistic and administrative director for eight years, working to transform it into a professional repertoire theater. The theater faced numerous difficulties in its early years, struggling to attract actors and patrons. Theater
Theatre or theater is a collaborative form of performing art that uses live performers, usually actor, actors or actresses, to present the experience of a real or imagined event before a live audience in a specific place, often a stage. Beersheba

Naomi Blumenthal
Naomi Blumenthal ( he, נעמי בלומנטל, born 22 November 1943) is a former Israeli politician. First elected to the Knesset in 1992, her political career was ended by a conviction for corruption in 2006. Biography Born in Bitzaron during the Mandate era, Blumenthal served in a Nahal brigade during her national service. She gained a BA in Political Science and Criminology from Bar-Ilan University and also graduated from the Beit Zvi School of Art in Ramat Gan. Blumenthal was one of the founders of the Beersheba theatre and chaired the Al-Sam anti-drug abuse association. She is also a former chairwoman of the ''Political Centre - Israel Women's Network'', and was a member of the Israeli delegation to the United Nations Conference on the Status of Women in 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1995. Eliyahu Nawi
Eliyahu Nawi (; June 22, 1920 – November 16, 2012) was a judge, lawyer, poet, politician, Bible investigator, and mayor of Beersheba. Biography Eliyahu Nawi was born in Basra, Iraq. He immigrated to Jerusalem with his family at the age of six. He served in the Israel Defense Forces and attained the rank of major in the intelligence services. In 1947, Nawi moved to Beersheba as a liaison man between the British Mandate authorities and the Arab population. He later became a judge in the Beersheba magistrates' court. In 1983, the Public Council for Falasha Jews elected Nawi as its honorary president. Political career Prior to the 1963 municipal elections in Beersheba, the leadership of Mapai chose Nawi to head the party's electoral list in Beersheba. Edna Shavit
Edna Shavit ( he, עדנה שביט; April 25, 1935 – 14 June 2015) was an Israeli professor affiliated with the theater department of Tel Aviv University. She was married to Yoram Gal between 1994 and 2003. HaNephesh Theater
HaNephesh Theater is a Jewish fringe theater established in 1978 by Howard Rypp and Gabriel Emanuel in Canada. At the time of its founding, HaNefesh was the only professional Jewish theater in Canada, where it produced approximately 40 theatrical and television productions. In 1980 the theater produced its first play, ''Children of the Night''. The play, which tells the story of Janusz Korczak, was featured in the first International Jewish Theater Festival in New York City. In 1983, Rypp immigrated to Israel, bringing the theater with him. The theater's first production in Israel was Emanuel's joint production with Habima Theater called ''Einstein''.
